PVS records the wrong channel!?

I've been using PVS for a week now, even though it took two days to get the thing working. However I have noticed a few problems with the application:
1. From a fresh reboot, PVS records a scrambled image unless the WinTV application is started and closed first.
2. PVS has this annoying habbit of recording the last channel viewed by WinTV, regardless of which channel you want recording.
3. PVS will crash the computer on it's 4th/5th recording (in one session/without reboot).
Obviously all these problems (except the last) point to there being a problem with PVS interacting with Hauppauge WinTV driver.
My specification:
P2-300 128Mb Dram
Ati Xpert@play/ Voodoo 2
Hauppage WinTV card (848/9 VFW Driver)
Soundblaster AWE 64 Gold
Windows 98 & Windows NT4 (Dual boot)
All drivers are current upto date.
If anyone can help me with these problems, then please Please help, as this application is driving me mad...

You may have set up Direct Show as your input source instead of choosing your TV card from the drop down menu. As I understand it, Direct Show will only record the current TV channel.

(sorry, continued from above)

I am using a Pinnacle Studio PCTV Card. The recommended settings for this card is Direct Show for both Capture and Tuning. Does this mean that by using this card you can't us Snapstream to it's full potential?

xavier-- can you try using these VFW drivers at our site (these are from Hauppauge correct a no audio problem -- they might also help with the tuning problem you are encountering):

ftp://ftp.snapstream.com/drivers/vfw95-98.exe

tanv -- are you also running a Hauppauge WinTV with the VFW drivers?

PaulC -- is that the Pinnacle PCTV USB or the PCI card? We have experimental support for the PCTV PCI from Russ Spooner (see http://www.snapstream.com/support/tv...pinnacle.htm). If it's the Pinnacle PCTV USB that you are using, Directshow/Directshow should work.

Hi there I think I have the solution.
When you setup the channels did you use the channel number that you have tuned your tuner into?
I did.
What I have done is I checked what the channel frequency was (there is a link to different national frequencies on the home page).
Change the channel number to the frequency here (I think these are the frequencies)
I use channel 44 to recieve BBC1, I have changed it to 655000000 and all the other channels I have changed to this series of 9 digit numbers.
Now as long as I turn of viewing I can turn to any of the channels with the timer program no matter which one I was previously viewing.
This seems to work for me I hope it works for everyone else.
I an using a Haupage WinTv card in VFW mode the sound is sent through my sound card just to clarify what I have working.
