Re: Active BTV Users
Still going strong with OTA and will be as long as I can get guide data for scheduling. In fact, today I am playing around with installing a new mobo and cpu with the llano FM1 socket so I can open up more pci-e slots. Will post results when I get it going.

Re: Active BTV Users
Still plugging along at my house. 1 server, 2 links and a 3rd license for the laptops.
Not sure how much hard drive space I have these days, but its enough that I never have to worry about it.

Re: Active BTV Users
My last xp computer is my server, use that on my main tv. Two W7 links working on other tv's, my son uses his, don't use the other that much. Not planning on moving away from BTV as long as it keeps working and guide gets updated. Biggest complaint now is there's no real streaming app for Android, specifically one that works with .tp files from OTA HD or the HD PVR.
I would have to start from scratch to get something else running. WMC is a bust, lame and useless. MediaPortal 2 might have promise, otherwise I'll probably build a mythtv system and use scraping for channel information.

IT's good to see this thread GROWING....
That's the reason why I started it. I wanted to see who's still out there and show are support for BTV. I hope that Snapstream will see that they still have a Home Audience. |

Re: Active BTV Users
I still use BTV for my low numbered channels due to the COMCAST digital migration. So I still use BTV only for the SD stuff, including local channels.
All of my HD channels are now recorded on WMC with a CETON card in my i7 DELL with a 2TB drive.

Still using it all the time, really recording movies and kids shows on it. My daughter just got a laptop and the first thing she wanted installed was BeyondTv client.

Still using it here too with HDPVR's. No other DVR compares for usability, stability and simplicity. It' just works and works well. Two other households in our family use BTV and Link exclusively too.

Re: Active BTV Users
I'm still in the boat with BTV on my HTPC for now, but I bailed on BM for XBMC a few years ago.
I'm starting to build a new media file server (2U, 2 dual-core Opteron 275HE's, 16G RAM, 3ware PCI-X hardware RAID5, dual GbE, OS is 64-bit Debian). It will run VirtualBox VM's to experiment with MythTV as a PVR back-end to XBMC's PVR branch as the front-end. That's my current plan for moving off BTV someday.

Re: Active BTV Users
My BTV home theater PC is still kicking. Must be around 11 years?? However there is a change in the wind coming. Sometime this summer or Cox cable is going to eliminate all the analog stations. That will leave me with only the local Clear QAM digital channels. And none of "History, ESPN, etc." channels. Sigh ...
Right at this minute however, I'm temporarily visiting the "Dark Side", ie. Windows Media Center. I'm setting up a cable card (Home Run Prime) on my main day-to-day computer. I'm running a 64-bit window 7 OS. I'm about half way through my third attempt to get this working. ![]() I wish we had support with BTV for Cable Card devices. That's all I want for Christmas ... ![]() I still can't understand what the big deal is to add a few new tuners to the supported list? I mean I already have a couple Silicon Dust HD Home Run tuners (clear qam) that work great with Beyond TV. Oh well. For those of you who might remember me .. No I didn't croak. (came pretty close though). In the last 2 years I've had a heart attack, a stroke, big time problems with internal bleeding and now congestive heart failure. And all the time while laid up or in the hospital my Beyond TV home theater PC just kept plugging along. Was even watching a lot of my recorded show while at the hospital using their WIFI. Oh oh .. now Win Media Center is telling there are no channels found. Arrghhhh. Well I've been puzting here wasting too much of my time. I think I'll fire up the home theater and watch some TV. This past summer I have been converting my DVD collection into DVD quality Mpeg files and storing them on my BTV hard drives. I have a BTV folder named "Archived DVDs". That is further split up into genres like Sci-Fi, Comedy etc. All the movies there are displayed in the normal BTV GUI, where I can browse them, and run the movie. The BTV GUI even has a synopsis for each DVD movie that is the "recorded shows" sub folder name "Archived DVDs". So far I've got just under 300 saved to work in my BTV setup. So I've been busy.
