Transfer shows after recording.
Does anyone have a postprocessing set up that transfers their shows to another drive after it's done recording? How do you have it set up?

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
Couldn't you simply add a new folder from the second drive in BeyondTV and then set BTV itself to move the files to that folder after processing? That's what I do - I have an 'Archive' folder where my squeezed shows go automatically.

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
You're showsqueezing and moving right?
Is there an option just to move them?

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
Ahh, my apologies, for some reason I read that as you wanted them to move after processing instead of just recording.
There is a 'copy' showsqueeze setting which is designed to move the file once it's recorded to the location specified in the showsqueeze settings without actually compressing it.

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
I have a scheduled task set up that processes the moves on a daily basis. That way if I'm watching a newly recorded show it won't try moving it after a post processing job.
I run comskip, and on select recordings perform show squeeze, on a RAID 0 array for speed, then after a given number of days based on my routines, it will move to the large storage array. It's simple to set up now.

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
I do the same as Jakesty, but every night. My QAM recordings go to one drive and H.264 recordings to another drive, and each night (actually each morning at 3:30) a simple batch file moves the recordings and chapter files to my Recorded TV folder.
Like Jakesty, the reason is to not try to move a recording we are watching on Link, and if we delete it, then that is one less file to move over.

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
On a similar subject, is there a preferred way to move files from one path to another and maintain the watched flag so all the moved videos don't appear as NEW in the BTV Library?

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
You could create a simple batch file to do the move and have PostHaste execute it at the end of the recording...

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
Well, I posted my original question while at work and just prior to me buying the 4TB external drive, I've since discovered that this is easier than I thought. So I get it all set up (a USB 3.0 card and the ext.HD) and found that ShowSqueeze already has the option of specifically moving files.
Here are the settings in ShowSqueeze to just move files. Time constraints set to none so the files get moved immediately.

Re: Transfer shows after recording.
You can also make that move on a per show basis. Just edit the Scheduled Recording and change the drop down for the Target Store.
Also, if I remember correctly, the recording will go to your local system as usual and when ShowSqueeze runs it will be writing across to your USB drive and fragmenting. It won't do it in place and then perform a copy/Delete or move command. This probably matters less for USB3, but any other USB and it would be a deal breaker as it will tie up your bandwidth. Unfortunately both procedures only allow you to select one of the Shared folders from BTV. The task I have gives you the ability to select sub folders or different servers for your shows to move to. I hope to test XBMC some more and this is the only way it will work.
