Beyond TV Problem
I built two PVR systems, both work exceedingly well. I will describe them next.
System One: Black Antec case Intel DG45ID motherboard with 2.6 MHz, Quad Core processor 4 GB of RAM 3 Terabytes of Hard disk space 2 Hauppauge HVR-2250 tuner cards (4 possible recording channels) 1 Hauppauge PVR-500 tuner card (2 possible recording channels) Windows XP - SP2 Beyond TV4 Beyond Media System Two: Silver Antec case Intel DG45ID motherboard with 2.6 MHz, Quad Core processor 4 GB of RAM 2 Terabytes of Hard disk space 2 Hauppauge HVR-2250 tuner cards (4 possible recording channels). Windows Media Center Windows 7 However, there is a problem with System One. It did not use to do this until I updated Beyond TV4 to the version 4.9.3.6535. Since installing that version the system seems to hiccup. It doesn’t matter what is being recorded in the background or how many simultaneous channels (never more than 3). Here is what happens. I am watching a show I have selected from the on screen “Program Guide”. At some seemingly random time, but usually after the time indicator, on the bottom of the screen, displays that I’ve been watching this show for a little more or less than an hour, the hiccup will occur. The screen will freeze and when it starts again, the time indicator on the bottom of the screen will look like I have just started watching the show. I.e., I cannot skip back or forward as the indicator show only what I’m now watching and o yes, the show I’m watching will have lost (skipped ahead) about two or three minutes (the amount of time the screen was frozen). This has been happening for months now. The only way I know to stop it from happening is to record the show I want to watch from the “Program Guide”. Instead of selecting “Watch this show at this time”, I select “Record this show at this time” and watch it as it is being recorded. Does anyone have any idea of what's causing this? BTW, System two does NOT have this problem. Thanks for any help I can get. |
