Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

Is it possible to restore from backup? Or is this data not backed up in the process. I thought it might work but never had the chance to try it.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

Happened to me early this morning. Recorded a show until about 1:15am, and I noticed today that my guide data had an issue...my QAM channels lost all their data.

After doing a guide update, the scheduled recordings returned just fine, but lo and behold the recordings wouldn't record and I couldn't access the QAM channels.

Same issue as the last post on page 4 with the lineup not being valid. Rescanning as I type. Such a hassle.

I'll be turning off lineup detection....I skimmed through this thread but I didn't see anyone say it doesn't work, but I didn't see anything to definitive about it working for everyone.

Edit:
Happauge Card.

I hate having to shut it off, because I do want to see if new channels get added or something changes, but I'm going to give it a shot now. I'm frustrated with missing recordings and having to rescan.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

Given the choice between remapping the entire lineup and remapping just a few channels, I'll take the latter any day.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

I opened a ticket on this issue and SnapStream replied:

"Run the Beyond TV setup wizard and delete your sources and lineups. Once you have done that, recreate your sources, rescan for QAM and then remap the channels. Again, please make sure you delete your lineups and then re-add them. Once your done, in the Beyond TV ViewScape under Settings - SnapStream.Net Settings - disable Lineup Change Detection."

I had done this right after opening the ticket based upon some other posts here, and I have been running for a week with no issues, which is about the longest I have been able to go for over a month and a half since the issue started. I do find it odd that this started happening out of the blue, but what am I gonne do?

Too bad that's the 'fix'. Hopefully the rare BTV updates that we do see might fix this someday.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

I just started experiencing this issue as well. Thought it might be a hardware problem or heat related issue since my HD6950 gets really hot running three 1080 res. monitors and my HVR-2250 is right next to the HD6950.

My specs. are in my sig. if it'll help to find what's going on.

Too bad it's taking them forever to find the cause for this issue. I wish there was a better alternative to BTV.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

I don't think you have a sig... but turning off automatic lineup change detection seems to help most people.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

How do I get my sig. to show? I'm pretty sure I entered stuff into that box in User CP.

Thanks.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

Lost QAM mapping again yesterday. Missed a few shows And I have Lineup Change Detection Disabled. So obviously, there is still something horribly wrong with Snapstream.net

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

The only fix I've found to all my BTV issues was to dump BTV for SageTV.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

I'm glad I found this thread. I recently bought the Hauppauge 2250 and am doing QAM for the first time. It lasted for 2 days before losing my guide data. I then forced a guide update, and it updated, and I thought everything was cool, only to find out now that all the channel mappings got messed up and all my weekend shows are the wrong channel. I followed nemo219's directions. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

I am running windows 7 pro 64bit, 2 Hauppauge 2250's, AMD 6 core 8 GB mem, and I am having the same problem as other people in this thread. I have gone as far as re-installing the program, turning off the 'lineup change detection', re-mapping, and re-adding all my shows. NONE of this has worked. When I first installed it in January of this year (2011) it worked fine until about two weeks ago, then it just started losing channel assignments about every other day. What gives? Is anyone looking into this problem at all? Should I STFU and go look for something else? I bought all of my hardware based on BTV, and now I feel like I just bought a bunch of bricks.

I have also tried to restore from a backup of settings (which worked one time) and it now errors out saying 'can't write settings to registry' so I have to start all over again with re-mapping etc.

Re: Losing QAM mapping lately

The issue I've been experiencing is zero length recordings and loss of live TV. I was always able to fix the issue by remapping my channels. I thought at first that my channels were actually moving -- I have experienced that a few times. However, in this case, the mappings before and after were the same. It occurred to me that the "Lineup Detection" setting could be giving a false positive (I had yet to stumble on this thread). It's been about 6 weeks now and I've not had a recurrence.
