Problem with OTA lineup
I downloaded the trail version to give it a try with the intent to purchase it, if I can get everything working. I am having one problem with getting my OTA channels set-up.
My local CBS station (WBOC 16) also broadcasts my local FOX station (FOX 21). They broadcast on digital channel 21 and CBS is 16.1 and Fox is 21.2. When I download the lineup from SnapStream they listed them as physical channel 21 and CBS is 16.1 and FOX is 16.2. With this information I get the CBS signal on both channels. FOX needs to be 21.2, but I can't change that because I can not have two different major channels on the same physical channel. I tried doing a custom lineup and changed the physical channel number for CBS from 21 to 16, but I no longer get their signal then, so I guess you can not do that. Did I not do something correct there? I have notified Zap2it and I guess if they correct this information it will correct my problem. Is there anything else I can do to fix this myself? I only have one tuner, so I don't think I can fix this by having two custom lineups. One with the correct information for CBS and another for FOX. But I am new to all of this and I have being researching the forum for two days now with no luck finding a fix, so any help someone can give me would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Problem with OTA lineup
You need to submit a support ticket so they can send it to their guide provider

Re: Problem with OTA lineup
I submitted the information directly to Zap2it. SnapStream said on their company blog that was the fastest way to do it. I am just trying to find a work around to when/if Zap2it fixes it.

Re: Problem with OTA lineup
I tried that. I changed CBS (WBOC 16) from physical channel 21 major/minor channel 16.1 to physical channel 16 and left the major/minor channel at 16.1. Then I left FOX (Fox 21) on physical channel 21, but changed the major/minor channel to the correct 21.2. When I did this I could get the FOX signal, but I no longer received the CBS signal when I changed it to physical channel 16 from 21. Does changing the number assigned to the physical channel cause a problem if the major/minor channel is correct? I only have one tuner, so I can only have one custom lineup. Since I can not have two major channels (16 and 21) on the same physical channel (21) it is not clear to me what else I can do to fix it while I wait for Zap2it to make a correction.

Re: Problem with OTA lineup
You can correct your lineup with a little work. The instructions are at:

Below is a link from the stations what provides the correct settings for receiving their signals. In Media Center I can enter the channels this way and I receive both signals fine. Digital TV Trainer Last edited by twinder; 05-13-2009 at 10:20 PM. Reason: To provide more information. |

Re: Problem with OTA lineup
Can someone who has had a similar issue tell me how long it usually takes to get something like this corrected after you have submitted it to Zap2it and/or SnapStream?

Re: Problem with OTA lineup
I submitted a correction to both Snapstream and Zap2It a few months ago and it still has not been corrected.

Re: Problem with OTA lineup
Is there a way to assign a different physical channel in a custom lineup.
For example can I change 16.1 from physical channel 21 to physical channel 16 and then leave 21.2 on physical channel 21. If there is a way to do that then I can fix the problem myself. The problem I have is when I changed 16.1 to physical channel 16 in my custom lineup it no longer received the signal. Is there something more I need to do than just simply reassign 16.1 to a different physical channel? |
