2nd qam feed jitters badly.

Just did a fresh install of windows and BTV. If I have a qam recording going and try to tune a second qam channel the second one has extremely bad jittering on anything moving on screen but stationary objects look fine. I've tried a reinstall of btv and I changed the tuner priority with no difference. It's alway the secondchannel tuned into that has trouble. Does anybody have any ideas.

Your PC seems powerful enough.

Are there any background processes going when you have the jitters? Streamsnip, Showsqueeze?

What processes are running when the jitters occur?

Do you have more than one drive?

Re: 2nd qam feed jitters badly.

Maybe your cable is split a lot. If the 2nd QAM comes from the same branch of cable that your internet cable is hooked up to, then try shutting off the cable modem (literally unplug the power cable of the modem, or better yet, taking it out of your wiring and directly connecting it to your tuner and your tuner only) just to see if the splitting and the loss of signal has to do with it. I had my cable into ma house split into two. One going to my modem, the other going to my cable STB. When I get a QAM feed off of the 2nd line (that's going to the STB) QAM feed is great. On the other hand, when get QAM off of the branch that's going to my cable modem, the picture is unveiwably bad. (BTW, I didn't have any splitter outlet that was unused in both cases.) You think the total number of splilts is the same and this shouldn't matter. In my case, it clearly makes a difference. Just a thought...

Oh this is totally irrelevant if you have one tuner card with a splitter inside the card..
