I've been testing the iTunes integration for the last 2 weeks, and still can't get it to work correctly. I've probably overlooked something simple, so i'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I want to be able to selectively convert recordings to iTunes automatically. I'm doing so from a second computer using WebAdmin. Auto Showsqueeze is set to off and the WebAdmin is used to 'enable' iTunes for a selective recording... Hit 'Save', then hit the iTunes button. So far so good, iTunes is launched and a new podcast is added.

The show completes recording, gets tagged, then nothing. No pending tasks in the WebAdmin and no iTunes file was created. I've tried from 2 different computers (neither are the BeyondTV computer) with the same results.

I open up the BTV log, and see the following:
[2009/1/8 19:30:15] Web Admin Default User changed property 'ITunesShowSqueeze' in Job 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit' from 'TRUE' to ''.


So it appears the request made it into BeyondTV, it just doesn't kick off the job.

I can go in and manually convert a recording to iTunes through Viewscape and everything works just fine.

Does anyone have any thoughts or any additional troubleshooting measures? I'd really like to get this thing working... if i have to manually enable the iTunes conversion, there's really not much benefit to the upgrade.

I use ShowSqueeze to do this.

Just set the ShowSqueeze default to your favorite h.264 quality.

Now go in to the Recording Manager and turn on ShowSqueeze for the shows you want to be able to download.

Now your shows should automatically transcode after they're recording. (If you have constraints enabled, the transcoding will only happen late at night.)
