Manual editting

What software do you use to manually edit a recording to remove the extra padding and commercials?

Re: Manual editting

Without question, VideoRedo is the best for this purpose. Not free, but worth the money imo.

Re: Manual editting

Thanks for the suggestion. I intend to check out the trial. I have a question though. I don't need much. It I could manually specify the chapters myself (because I don't trust SmartSkip) it seems like the AutoXvid addon might be all the more I need for my purposes. Is it possible to manually create chapters for this purpose?

Re: Manual editting

I know you can manually edit the .xml file that BTV creates after it runs a smartchapter job. I used to do this on shows to correct BTV's mistakes. The problem is that it takes too long. I have not found a program that will always mark the commercials correctly so I opted to just cut them. One big advantage is the disk space you save.

VideoRedo will allow you to mark the commercials in several videos and create a project. Once your finished, you can execute the project and it will process all of the files. Another great feature is the ability to combine multiple .vob files into a single .mpg.
