Can I increase Fast Forward Speed past 3x?
Is it possible to increase the FF speed beyond FFx3 in BTV? Is there a configuration file that I can increase the FFx3 speed?
MythTV has 8 FF speeds - their fastest FF is 3 times faster than BTV's FFx3 speed, e.g., it takes about 1 minute to FF through a one hour show with BTV whereas it takes only 20 seconds to FF through a one hour show with mythTV. thanks. -- BTV 4.7.1 AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800 hauppauge pvr-250 ATI Radeon x300 |

Re: Can I increase Fast Forward Speed past 3x?
Well if you hit a number during playback, it will go to that minute instantly. For instance, if you're watching a one hour show and hit 50, it will go to the that minute of the recording. Not exactly what you're asking about, but a lot faster than just the fast-forward anyway.

Use a mouse and click anywhere in the recording works too.
You can also use Skip Forward... it's default is 30 sec increments, but that amount is user adjustable in the webadmin And then of course there's Chapter Skip.

Re: Can I increase Fast Forward Speed past 3x?
I've tried those options. If I have 12 hours of CNN news recorded in one mpg, and I'm scanning for a specific news story, it is most efficient to FF rapidly through. skipping in 30 second chunks or jumping by a percentage is slower and you risk missing a brief news blurb you are looking for.
Is it possible to increase the FF speed in a configuration file? |

Re: Can I increase Fast Forward Speed past 3x?
I seem to recall reading that the 3X limit is actually a DirectX/DXVA limitation.
