This sounds similar to the problem I was having, where the number of tuners is different than the number of enabled tuners. I fixed it by deleting any disabled tuners. You were going to update the code so we could have disabled tuners and not got this error.

Sorry I didn't post debugview results. I had a worse stability problem I had to deal with first. Now that problem is fixed. I tried the suggestion to match the number of tuners and it fixed my problem too. It seems 4.8.2 is less tolerant to illegal indexes.

Re: [addon] BTVSmartie 5.0

Any word on a fix? I like to preload all my available cards even if they are not installed, then just switch them on and off as needed. My ati HD wonder seems to have died (system got totally unstable after I installed an HD fan, replaced an HD as a precaution (love Seagate's warranty) and then the card finally died. Strange how it died, at first I would get blue screens of death (Machine bug exception or something) which I could fix with a ghost of the OS, then I would lock up coming out of standby, finally the card did not recognize the driver, kept asking to install a driver and when I did ignored it. Good thing I had my A180 spare.

So, I suppose I don't need a fix now since I am out of spare cards, but you never know.

Version 5.1 submitted.

Fixed the index out of range crash when a capture source was disabled and added access to genre (catagory) info .

Still working on conflicts Dave Gestens.

If you don't want to wait for the SnapStream upload to be updated, you can get it now from the homepage.

Cool, Looking forward to the Conflict Warning!

I almost missed Stargate Atlantis last night as my wife had scheduled a craft show with a higher priority. Image that, an Arts & Crap show over Stargate.

Thanks!

Re: [addon] BTVSmartie 5.0 (July 24 Update)

Yeah, everything works here as well, only thing is it has a delay before kicking in on standby wakeup, so all my lines read exception, but several seconds later all is well. I'll have to start exploring my options again as I'm, up to 5 tuners now (well, 7 but I don't really use the analog ota any more unless there are 3 ota simultaneous recordings.)

Re: [addon] BTVSmartie 5.0 (July 24 Update)

Hello 70DieselRabbit (and anyone else who can help);

Installed btvsmartie 5.0 and LCDSmartie 5.4.

When I attempt to run it, I am presented with a "Logon Failed: Cannot find host". I can access the host using a web-browser, though.

I have run DebugView and am presented with:

Re: [addon] BTVSmartie 5.0 (July 24 Update)

For some reason, it's trying to log on over and over again and in less than a minute, from what I read on the internet, using up all the sockets?

Do you have any registry keys for BTVSmartie set?
Do you have any security settings for BTV enabled?
Are you using a beta version of BTV?

Re: [addon] BTVSmartie 5.0 (July 24 Update)

I did try putting the keys in, but it did not seem to help.
I have no security set on BTV; default installation.
Not using a Beta version. Using 4.7.1.

I figured it was trying to login repeatedly, but I can't figure out why. I can try entering the keys again and double check all my spelling and such, but as mentioned, everything is a default.

Re: [addon] BTVSmartie 5.0 (July 24 Update)

[edit]
Sorry, I should have caught this sooner.

BTVSmartie 5.0 requires BTV 4.8 or greater.

You can either keep your current BTV install and use BTVSmartie 2.1 http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/showthread.php?t=22043
or use BTVSmartie 5.0 and upgrade your install of BTV to 4.8.2 http://www.snapstream.com/download/b...ad_updates.asp

Re: [addon] BTVSmartie 5.0 (July 24 Update)

Setting up actions for BTV in LCDSmartie

LCDSmartie is really poorly documented, so you have to figure out how to implement the BTV plug-in by trial and error. Since it took me a number of hours to implement this, I figured I'd share it for others.

For reference, I run an old socket 478 Intel 845PT in an Antec Fusion V2, which has a 2x16 iMon LCD, IR receiver and volume control. I run Beyond TV, iTunes, NetFlix, MLBtv, and browse a bit, so I needed the LCD to show at least BTV and iTunes info. Here's how:

LCDSmartie can display up to 20 screens. The screens can be grouped into themes. LCDSmartie always has an active theme and an active screen. The currently active screen determined what is displays, and the currently active theme determines what is displayed next. Thus, its entirely possible to change themes without changing screens (for instance, if none of the screens in that theme are enabled.)

The only way to change themes is manually, or by triggering an action. Unless you set one of your screens as sticky, Smartie will cycle through all of the screens in the current theme, and then go back to the first screen of that theme. It will never hop across themes.

That makes themes the best way to control which screens are being presented. I set up 6 screens across 4 themes:

1: Default
.1- Upcoming Recordings

2: Recording
.2- Upcoming Recordings
.3- Recording on Tuner 1
.4- Recording on Tuner 2

3: Live TV
.5- Watching Now

4: iTunes
.6- Now Playing

Once these are set up, you'll want to set up some actions that trigger changes between themes and screens. A couple things to keep in mind:
  1. Have a default screen as #1 in a group of its own. If nothing is enabled, this will become active. Some people have the time here; I have the upcoming recordings.
  2. As far as I could tell, when the action that triggers, say, EnableScreen(3) becomes false, it doesn't disable the screen. At least not reliably.
  3. It only appears to execute an action when something changes, or just after you save the settings. Thus, if your watching iTunes and a recording comes on, I think it will change to the recordings theme.
  4. Enabling a screen doesn't mean that it will switch to it. It just means that it can. So enabling a screen in another theme has no effect, nor does enabling a screen if your on a sticky screen.
  5. Disabling the current screen doesn't cause it to turn off. It will never turn off by itself if its sticky, even if disabled.
Anyway, here are my actions:

if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#1,recindicator#1) = 1 then GotoTheme(2)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#1,recindicator#1) = 1 then EnableScreen(3)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#1,recindicator#1) = 1 then DisableScreen(2)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#1,recindicator#1) <> 1 then DisableScreen(3)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#1,recindicator#1) <> 1 then EnableScreen(2)

if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#2,recindicator#1) = 1 then GotoTheme(2)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#2,recindicator#1) = 1 then EnableScreen(4)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#2,recindicator#1) = 1 then DisableScreen(2)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#2,recindicator#1) <> 1 then DisableScreen(4)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,tuner#2,recindicator#1) <> 1 then EnableScreen(2)

if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,livetv,title) <> [blank] then GotoTheme(3)
if $dll(BTVSmartie,1,livetv,title) = [blank] then GotoTheme(1)

if $dll(iTunes,1,Title) <> [blank] then GotoTheme(4)
if $dll(iTunes,1,Title) = [blank] then GotoTheme(1)

These are working perfectly for me now. There may be some kinks if recordings come on when I'm watching TV or listening to music. Dunno.

Hope this saves some of you some time.
