Short Description: Adds BeyondTV functionality to the Hauppaugee MediaMVP
Long Description: Here's what the BTV MediaMVP skin can do: Live TV from BTV & Pause Live TV - (server supports LiveTV, but only for what is currently playing on the EPG. Meaning that once the show is over, it stops. You'll have to go back in the EPG and select the next show to get LiveTV again) Program Guide from BTV server Display Upcoming Recordings List Play recorded shows (uses MVP server) Set up a recording Delete a recording Play Music & Video Files - If the music and video files are viewable by the BTV server, such as a network shared folder or drive, then the MediaMVP can play it. You just add the folder in the settings. It can't play VOBs files due to the AC3 audio. Goto www.shspvr.com/smf to read more about the MediaMVP capabilities. Plus it can do extra things that BTV link doesn't : internet radio display web pages RSS news weather

Installation Instructions: If you have a previously installed version, backup those files first. Just run the setup.exe program. It will copy files from the BTV directory and creates a new user_config.js file. If you are upgrading, let it overwrite files in the Hauppauge directory.
Release Notes: This is a very early release. It only has Recorded shows function working. More to come later. The guide, LiveTV, upcoming recordings and more will be updated soon.

Great work Jack. We are looking forward to your work here. This is an improvment in that it removes the main screen error.

In the mean time one can add the Beyondtv folder to the Video config and play your shows from there. You will not be able to play shows that are currently recording or shows that have an associate Index file.

In the other thread, bpsmicro said he now gets an authorization failure when trying to change views. That too is my current problem. I don't know if this helps, but when I try running MediaMVP /visible only on the computer, it gives me a "system error" on a line (~1285) in RecordedShows.html which doesn't even exist (the file ends before that line). However, upon trying again on the computer, I do get the next view, so it's not completely impossible. I can't get through the error on the MediaMVP itself, but I can get through it with repeated attempts on the computer.

I'm only guessing, but could there be a difference in the version of webservice.htc? Mine is dated 11/18/2006.

I uploaded another update that I'm calling Beta 2. It has the following fixes:

1) Recorded shows page no longer shows an error when you press right or left arrow to change view
2) BeyondTV graphic on all pages changed
3) Upcoming recordings page updated to work with BTV 4.8.1
4) Recording settings and priorities page updated to work with BTV 4.8.1
5) Search by title updated but still has errors.
6) included all files needed for the MediaMVP including webservice.htc
7) removed Hauppauge executables from the zip file so that it won't overwrite user's existing firmware.
8) Fixed error regarding filehelp.dll in the setup program.
9) updated setup program popup dialog.


You should run the setup program after you download the Beta 2 zip file (which is located at the source forge website: https://sourceforge.net/project/show...roup_id=107497

By the way, if someone has a good PNG editor and would like to modify the file "FS_Top_MediaMVP.png" for me and make it say BeyondTV 4.8.1 instead of BeyondTV 4 , that would be nice.

Finally, I'm in a good mood so if people want additional screens or would like a different podcast, radio station, fix a bug or something, let me know and maybe I can add it in. I am still planning on getting LiveTV and the guide to work again.

Thanks Lala for the graphic. I put that graphic file and the setup.exe in the zip package (I had updated setup.exe and fixed it but forgot to put it back into the zip).

Anyhow, I reposted the Beta 2 copy just now. Sorry about that.

I added this RSS feed of late night talk show guests, but some of the guests names are hard to see because they're links and show up as bright blue on the dark blue BTV background. How can I make the links white?

Did you rerun setup with the last build or did you just copy files over? Did you forgot to enter your security password in the user_config.js file? Is it repeatable? and finally, if you can get a screenshot of the error message, that would be helpful.
