Out of the loop: PVR150

Hey everyone, havent been around for a while, just had a quick question.

B/c of the Feb 2009 switch, does this mean my PVR150 will be outdated? Is it worth upgrading to the HVR1600? If I just have regular cable, will I get HD? whats the processor usage on this? my computers pretty crappy, but it handles dual 150s fine b/c of the hardware encoding.

Thanks!
Nate

Re: Out of the loop: PVR150

1) No, because the 2/09 is only over the air. Even after that, your PVR150 will work fine with a cable box.

2) HVR1600 will only do over-the-air HD with BTV. For unencrypted QAM (i.e. cable HD), you need the HDHomerun.

3) Processor use is trivial. HD is just writing to disk.

I do think your machine is underpowered for HD.
