Major Beyond TV 4.7 bug - skipped recording Heroes tonight

Hi, I set BTV 4.7 to record all new episodes of Heroes, and for some reason it completely skipped tonight's episode. Am I supposed to babysit it all the time? Stupid program. Does anyone have a smartskipped, showsqueezed episode they can send me? Thanks. Sorry, normally wouldn't ask for this but his is a major screwup on BTV's part; they should just buy me an iTunes episode.

Snapstream isn't liable for anything even if it accidentally wiped your hard drive. They certainly aren't financially liable in any way just because you missed an episode of a TV show. Bugs are MISTAKES, and they don't guarantee the software is free of them.

I watch my upcoming recordings list just to have an idea of whether it's missing something.

I think if you submit a trouble ticket they can tell you what file to send them, and can determine why it didn't record. The identifier key for the episode must have been marked as recorded, or the guide provider marked it as an old show in your TV provider lineup. It recorded fine for me.

There are plenty of ways to get a copy of the show short of asking somebody to send it to you. Someone sharing a copy would be considered copyright infringement in any case, especially with the ads removed.

It recorded fine for me. Look at your log or submit a ticket to see what happend. You can watch the episode on NBC.com for free for a week. After that you have to pay.

I'd love to see the log. It is very rare that I miss a recording. Post the log so we can help make sure it doesn't happen again.

can you post the log here for that time frame so we can help figure out what happened. It recorded for me just fine.

Heroes: Four Months Ago is repeating on G4 on Saturday night at 10 PM and Sunday on G4 at 6 PM

Personally, I do micro-manage my recordings... Using BTV-Negociator (link in my signature), I do check what is getting recorded and what is being rejected... From time to time, I do fix some disagreements between what BTV is planning to do and what I want...

How do I look at the log? There were no error messages. I checked the program guide, and the episode had an N with a slash through it, even though I set it to record all new episodes. Did it just not think it was a new episode?

Web Admin/View Log (in the Tasks Section on the left)

if you have never been to web admin, you get to it by right clicking on the BTV icon in the status bar and left clicking the web admin link. If it is not there, because you have not turned it on, go into your web browser on the BTV computer and type http://localhost/

I had a simular issue this past weekend.

I had 4 shows schedualed to record and they were listed in the upcoming recordings page.

The first one started recording but the next three did not start. No errors, nothing in the log. Just did not record but still showing in the upcoming recordings page.

Rebooting fixed the problem and that was the first and only (so far) time this has happened.

I have missed recordings in the past due to guide issues, but never like this before.

I read somewhere only up to a week, then they charge (but could be wrong).
