Which is best for SD tv hdtv?

"Hardware" deinterlacing or "None" selection for SD tv. I have used both, but looks like Hardware is a tad better.
In the near future, I plan to get a plasma hdtv or similar and wonder which is the best selection for those tv's and is HDMI connection the best to video card?
Thanks
