BTV Link DVD plugin vs BTV DVD plugin

I noticed in the new BTV link v4.7 that there is a BTV Link DVD burning plugin trial that can be enabled.

First Question:
Will I have to buy the BTV Link DVD burning plugin separate from the BTV server DVD plugin? I already bought the BTV server DVD plugin a while back.

Second question:
Could a HTPC system/network be put together where the BTV server does not have the DVD burning plugin but one of the BTV link computers does have the optional BTV Link DVD burning plugin?

My father-in-law has such a system and he would be interested in only burning from a BTV Link computer (i.e. no DVD burner on the BTV server).

Re: BTV Link DVD plugin vs BTV DVD plugin

I also purchased the DVD plugin for BTV when it became available on last year. I am interested in the plugin for BTV Link. I don't mind paying for a DVD plugin license for link to burn DVD's if I have to do so, but I don't believe that I should have to purchase a license for each link client (I have 5 link licenses) so that each of the links can burn DVDs. The information that I read online mentioned that the plugin for link would cost $19.95. I believe that once you purchase the Link plugin license, it is applied to the Link serial number which would limit the plugin to one Link client. Is anyone else facing the same scenario as myself?

I'm looking at the same issue now. I guess a mail to snapstream is required to figure out the specifics.

Re: BTV Link DVD plugin vs BTV DVD plugin

the license is Per machine/copy -- it's the same code -- whether BTV or Link.
