Record all (New) ?? How?

Is there a way to search the guide for any upcoming "First Run" episodes or anything with "(New)" in the guide description? I tried "new" in the title search as well as description search, but that seems to ignore the "First Run" tag.

Or even better, a single button I can press that just records anything tagged as (New) ?

Re: Record all (New) ?? How?

I there consideration on adding this ability or at least a search function?

If not, is there any form of exporting the guide data such as XML for use in third party programs?

Is there an API for third party programs to set recording episodes & priorities?

If I have to manually intervene for this process, I want it to be the extent of setting a show to not record. Not to go browse a website and search for shows and then return to the BTV to monotonously enter them to record. It takes all of 1 button click to delete show, it takes hours of time to select and setup recordings via hunt and peck.

When in front of BTV I watch tv, not program.

Maybe once they actually fill those job offers they've been advertizing/interviewing for the last year and a half, instead of waiting for their perfect candidates... Though in the last release, they did finally implement the "search by filter" that had been in the API but non-functionnal for years, so they might be planning to add an advance search some time in 2008...

You can get the documentation for the public API at:

Combined with DaWanderer's BTVLibrary (link in my signature), you can do alot. Then again, you could simply grab BTV-Negociator (link in my signature too) and perform advanced searches or channel search for those first run and/or first episodes, and of course schedul them from my addon...

Like many tech companies, we're always hiring. Its not that the positions haven't been filled (they have actually), its that we're always looking to add people to the team. So the announcements and listings stay up.

Ok, so pull out the whip, the list of requested features over the years must be getting long...
