Rc2 - upcoming recordings and view upcoming recordings

Ok, here's another interesting one. In my upcoming recordings view I have shows listed (Soprano reruns on A&E) that I manually set to record, even though my main setting is to record new episodes and these are reruns. So, they look like they're ready to record.

Then I click one to see upcoming episodes, and those episodes, including the one I just clicked, are marked as not scheduled to record! Well, I rescheduled them to record (even though another view listed them as scheduled) just to be safe, but like I said, interesting.

Re: Rc2 - upcoming recordings and view upcoming recordings

On your first situation, there's a new feature that treats generic reruns as new. Go to the WebUI and look under recording preferences. There is a pulldown menu called "Mark Generic Episodes As New." This is enabled by default. In my opinion, this should disabled by default, as it's bound to confuse people at first.

Re: Rc2 - upcoming recordings and view upcoming recordings

Yes, I actually am one of the main BAM-ers on that one. This one is strictly a view situation, in one view it is set to record, in another one, it says it's blocked. Didn't know which to trust. I think this started with rc2, rc1 fixed the new recording issue (killed me on Daily Show and Colbert, Mondays)

Nice job....I can see where that could be handy - record a series of reruns without repeating an episide-that must be the idea, yes? People are going to love this build. Undoubtedly the best ever.

Re: Rc2 - upcoming recordings and view upcoming recordings

i was away for a few days and found that Monk (new episode) was not recorded friday night, a very unusual event as this has been pretty stable in the past.

i have the option checked so that generics are treated as new but the log shows nothing at all.
however, when i went back to the show in EPG,
1) it indicated the show was in the past (correct)
2) when i scheduled the re-run on next tuesday to record it, it indicated it had been recorded already in the past

any idea if this could be related to the problem of this topic?

i was running rc1

Re: Rc2 - upcoming recordings and view upcoming recordings

I had couple recording errors related to forcing a recording of a rerun, not sure if its fixed yet, but it seems there are a bunch of bugs cropping up related to new/old/reruns. Hopefully we can catch them all before gm, but yeah, this build seems to be coming along nicely.

Too bad about divx 6.4, looks like theencoder won't make the cut. 4.7 anyone?

Re: Rc2 - upcoming recordings and view upcoming recordings

I've been trying to record twilight zone episodes for a while (using 4.5) - I've seen many cases where it's recorded different episodes twice and then ignored others, claiming they were already recorded (and were not...)

I figured it was an epgid issue so didn't bother to mention it. I wonder if the same is causing the problems with this 4.6 issue?
