BTV-Externinator - Alpha release

Version .09 (alpha) is available:

- DVICO-QAM: modification to the core logic. (see steps 1 to 5 of previous post)

- There are some minor modifications that should not effect anything, but let me know if anything is acting strange compared to the previous releases...


Known issue:

* DVICO-QAM: only the first recording job seems to get schedulled, but need confirmations...

Just confirming that this still requires a manual refresh recordings to get it started ?

Manual refresh of what? In principle there has been no need to refresh the DVICO database since BTVN 3.38a... If you add a recording job while BTVE is running, you will indeed need to refresh BTVE, either manually or wait for the auto-refresh to kick in.

- DVICO-QAM: added post processing. (when the Add information is enabled, it will add the Actor, Description and so on, as well as create the SmartChapters and perform the ShowSqueeze, if needed)

- There are more minor modifications that should not effect anything, but let me know if anything is acting strange compared to the previous releases...

* DVICO-QAM: no padding yet

I guess that this is what I am asking about, Is there a setting/flag for the auto-refresh ? I still need to click on the Refresh Recordings button

Back to testing. I scheduled back to back and only the first job was scheduled as you suspected. Also, the information was not added to the recording (how soon is it added after the recording is finished ?)

It's not just back to back, even the ones separated by hours are not getting added... Trying to find why it's acting differently than the the other external recordings...

Also, the information was not added to the recording (how soon is it added after the recording is finished ?)

This should happen 2 minutes after the end of the recording, could you post your log please.

You're correct. I set up a 6:00, 6:30 and a 9:00. The 6:00 recorded but the 6:30 and the 9:00 did not

I don't know if this is a known issue or something that is unresolvable. When I go to record a show that has already started, it gets added to the dbase, but it doesn't kick off. Is there a way for this to work or can you only schedule shows that are starting larter on?

Presently it only works for shows in the future, since it is based on a timer between the Start and Now, so a negative value wouldn't work... I can see about adding some kind of record now, but no promisses.

Your link on tripod is for .05, and that link is broken. I tried editing the URL for ".10", but can't get that either.

What link should I use to download the latest Externinator?

I just received my HDHR and have had some success with ATSC and QAM using VLC. Next step is to try and get it working with BTV.

I've been plodding through a lot of threads on BTV forums and silicondust looking for install instructions for the HDHR with BTV. I remember seeing a concise step-by-step guide a few days back, and now I can't find it. There's so much good info that I'm getting lost in it. Is there a post which offers some handholding on this install?
