Dual Tuner PCI-X

Forgive me if this has been discussed, I searched and normally stay "on top" of these forums, but I've been a bit busy lately.

My latest rendition of BTV box is a Conroe, PCI-e, uATX system. I've got the PCI slots jammed with a PVR-500 and a PVR-150, but it has no SPDIF onboard. I have a SB Live Audigy 2 Platinum just laying around, but no PCI slots for it. I'm looking for a dual-tuner PCI-X card (that is BTV compatible). Has anyone run across one yet?

Re: Dual Tuner PCI-X

I did not know they existed. Search New Egg and see if they even make one.

Newegg does have 1 brand, but it is not listed on BTV's supported hardware list.

Re: Dual Tuner PCI-X

I've got the Saber 2020 card on order. It hasn't been confirmed to work with Beyond TV yet, but they've emailed me believing it will work. I'll let you know when I've confirmed it.

Re: Dual Tuner PCI-X

Great! I can't wait to hear back. I did find a number of USB adapters on Newegg that I can use that are pretty cheap as well.

Re: Dual Tuner PCI-X

I recently picked up this USB sound card ( http://www.compusa.com/products/prod..._Audio_Adapter ) from CompUSA because the SoundBlaster external drive port just won't work with my case. This thing has optical in/out where the SoundBlaster USB only has it one way.

Haven't tried it yet, but will soon.

Re: Dual Tuner PCI-X

Are you sure you mean PCI-X? That's a server standard that hasn't been a huge success. Perhaps you mean PCI-E, which is what most PCs have these days?

Regardless, my solution was USB, both SD (Hauppauge) and HD (Dvico). Works great.

Quite right, my apologies!

I'm somewhat torn here. My major malfunction at the moment is that I want to avoid USB, because I've already got an insane rats nest of wiring in my entertainment center. While most of it is hidden behind it, there is just so much crapola that it is still visible from the front and the sides in some cases. At the same time, I like the small Antec Fusion case I have, which has no room for expansion. Ah well.

Re: Dual Tuner PCI-X

For what it's worth, the ATI Theatre 550 PCI-E card is a single tuner, but works great. I ran out of PCI slots, too, but I picked up an MSI-branded ATI 550 PCI-Express x 1 card and added it to my other tuners and it works great. I was a little worried about possible driver conflicts because I have a PCI version of the same card, but I'm having no trouble, even though I have both ATI cards and my Nvidia DualTV card are all sharing the same IRQ.

Re: Dual Tuner PCI-X

Vbox has a PCI-E dual hybrid digital/analog tunner that is suppossed to come out at some point.

http://www.vboxcomm.com/product3.htm#1 (at the bottom)

If it works with BTV 4.4 I would be pretty exicted.
