PVR-500 and WIN2K

I have a problem with a Hauppauge PVR-500 installation … Hope someone on the board can assist with this problem.

For quite a while the machine has been working perfectly using standard cable TV, BTV 4.3 and 2 PVR-150s (Hauppauge driver 2.0.28.23053).

My plan is to remove 1 PVR-150 and replace with a PVR-500. I thought this would be a non-event since both the 150 and 500 use the same drivers. The machine does not have an available PCI slot (otherwise I would just install another PVR-150).

Machine Specs
-------------
PIII 1.0 gig Dell Dimension 4100 with 512meg of RAM
Windows 2000 – SP4
Beyond TV 4.3
PVR-500 23552 Rev D587

Machine is headless HTPC used for BTV and mp3s. Never used for anything else.

Installation Process
--------------------
1) Executed hcwclear.exe (clear WinTV drivers and applications)
2) Shutdown PC
3) Remove 1 PVR-150
4) Install 1 PVR-500
5) Restart PC
6) Install Hauppauge driver 2.0.28.23053 for each tuner
7) Delete BTV source
8) Define BTV source for each tuner

Result
------
Worked fine for the PVR-150 but would not work for PVR-500. Channel will not tune in, picture to blurry to watch, but audio works. After a bit of research, found Hauppauge beta drivers 2.0.43.24108. Installed 2.0.43.24108 drivers using above process. Same result … PVR-150 worked and PVR-500 does not work. Removal of the remaining PVR-150 also produces the same result.

Anybody have an idea of how to resolve this problem?

Re: PVR-500 and WIN2K

You need to download and install the 500 drivers.

The 500 drivers can be used for both.

fmharr, the drivers I used should work for 150 and 500 cards. Not sure what you meant ...
