Pause feature not working

I just purchased BTV 4.2.0 build 3110. Everything has began to work flawlessly, except for the pause feature. The keyboard, ATI remote, and when I actually click on the button all fail to pause the live TV. However, pause does work on a recorded program. Nothing happens when I push the button; not an error message or anything.

I have a Pentium 2.8ghz with 1.5ghz ram, ATI radeon All-In-Wonder 9600XT video card 128mb.

My recording settings are the following:
recording format: mpeg-2
recording quality: better
padding: 2

Play settings are as follows:
preferred mpeg-2 decoder: snapstream video decoder
preferred mpeg-2 audio decoder: snapstream audio decoder
video renderer: overlay
channel change latency: wait for confirmation
seek auto-compensation: 7
skip forward length: 30
skip back length: 7
non-square pixel compensation: disabled

Any ideas?

I have read the other forums and it sounds like it may be a problem with the video card, however, I used the GuidePlus software that came with the video card (which is the worst program I have EVER seen) and I was able to pause and rewind live tv.

I did notice on BTV website that the ATI family falls under the category entitled "without hardware encoding." May this have anything to do with it?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Chad

Re: Pause feature not working

Ahh, I figured it out. 3d rendering must be enabled, as well as the recording mode must be on mpeg-2. I changed it to WMV earlier.. ty guys!
