[addon] BTV Upcoming Recordings

I've tried uploading it to Yahoo Widget Gallery...its been a few days without hearing back from them. Actually someone got back to me saying they didn't have the resources to test this widget out, but they wanted me to post a screenshot...so I did, and that's where I'm at right now...still waiting for a response back. So I figured in the meantime, why not post it up somewhere else.

The Gallery has just one person going through and approving widgets and doing so, they also review the code to make sure there's no hidden security risks. That's why it takes awhile for widgets to get posted. I didn't post the widget there for several reason, the main one being that everyone who actually uses BTV will find it here instead of there.

Please reply to Ricky or whomever is doing the widget auth and request that it be rejected.

Ah, ok. I didn't know they only had one person doing the approval at th Yahoo Widget Gallery. How did you get it up here on the Snapstream downloads? I've submitted it here as well, but haven't heard anything. Do you know who I can contact to get it approved up here?

Keeping things where they belong. There's no real purpose in having a separate thread for every version of every program/utility.

I prefer to have one location for my widget and any offspring. I don't mind people altering it to suit their needs as long as it's kept in one tidy sandbox. Introducing other sites also introduces miss-matched versions, etc.

This thread is the only official location for this widget, likewise the other threads for my other widgets are their only official location. And since it was designed for BTV and this is the official add-on site for BTV, it makes sense to be here.

Personally, I'm all for putting my own widgets up on the Yahoo Gallery but it just doesn't make sense since 99.9% of the users out there don't use BTV and nearly 100% here do.

You're used to the way that things are set up here, but many people don't understand searching for downloads inside forum threads. Having a single page with categorized downloads offers a central source for users who don't read the Snapstream forums. Users can also rate downloads and sort by popularity/downloads/date. In a single glance I can see what new versions have been uploaded.

The main purpose of the site, however, is allowing larger addons to have entire forums where users can create threads for various questions or discussions instead of everything related to an addon having to be in a single thread. The AutoXvid thread has gotten EXTREMELY long and it's nearly impossible for a new visitor to find the useful information buried within.

I apologize. I honestly didn't realize that I had uploaded one of your skins when I was setting up the site and wanted to honor your wishes no matter what decision you made.

This looks pretty cool, although now that I'm running Vista I would love to have this integrated into the Vista Sidebar. I don't really want two widget hosts on my desktop.
