Re: Snapstream Beyond TV to Ipod Video

Does anyone know of a way to add this menu on a link machine?

I tried to add the property to the XML file as ti would show up on the main one, but it didn't seem to work. My ipod is hooked up to a link machine so it would be nice to try it.

I did yesterday. Works great. It appears to encode through VLC and put it on the IPOD without saving the mp4 to disk anywhere.

I'd like to know if the author will open up the code. I'd be willing to add encoding options and such, since the ipod video now supports 640x480.

The code is in BTV2Ipod.exe. It was written in visual studio 2005 c#. The file BTV2Ipod.exe was larger then what beyondTV will allow me to upload so that is why I hosted the file at auburn.edu. If you have a new version I would be happy to replace the old one. If you have a better idea / place to host let me know an I will change the link

Re: Snapstream Beyond TV to Ipod Video

I just recently installed Beyond TV 4.4. Then I installed this addon. The installation appeared to work fine. (I had not installed this addon before I upgraded.) However, when attempting to 'Copy to Ipod' I get a fatal error for Beyond TV after the recorded file has been encoded by VLC. I have my ipod connected and itunes running.

When I have my ipod connected to my computer without itunes running I get an 'ipod not found' error at the same point in the process.

Can you provide any help with this issue?

Thanks.

Mike

This would be of more value (to me) without having to install that shit-ware iTunes.

Re: Snapstream Beyond TV to Ipod Video

I just finished trying it with iTunes 7 and the latest Beyond TV. Everything worked fine. I looked into using some other way to move the video to the iPod and surprise surprise iTunes really does the best job at this.

Some things that could be messing you up:
Make shore you have “sync Movies” disabled
Make shore you have “Manually manage Music and Video” Enabled
Make shore you have “Open iTunes when iPod is connected” Disabled
Make shore iTunes is closed when you click on "Copy to Ipod"
if you iPod is not found try renaming you iPod. I know "Lex's iPod" works fine

If anyone knows an easy way to get video to the iPod without iTunes I am open to suggestions.

I tested with: iTunes 7.0.1.8, Beyond TV 4.4.0, Video iPod firmware 1.2 windows XP SP2

All fresh installs and restored iPod

Re: Snapstream Beyond TV to Ipod Video

First off, thanks for this plugin, it works great however after completing the conversion and copy process itunes gives a warning that the ipod cannot be ejected because the file is in use by another program. This prevents conversion of multiple files as only the first in a series will get copied. Is there something I'm missing or is this just a bug somewhere in my system. One more question, is there a way to automatically copy to ipod after a recording?

Thanks in advance,

Face
