Guide gone? AutoXvid low priority?

Guide Problem
So, I go to check on my machine this AM, and notice that the next scheduled recording is "12 oz mouse", airing on Cartoon Network this weekend. I have a bunch of other programs scheduled to record that air prior to that time. So I go into the guide window, and press the Update Guide thing, it churns for awhile, and finally updates the guide, and updates my recordings.

One of the big draws for me for using BeyondTV is the guide, and the simplicity in scheduling recordings. Is this a common occurrance, or do I perhaps have a setting wrong? I'm still on the trial version, but if this is going to continue this way, I'm not sure that I'm terribly thrilled about it.

AutoXVID problem
Because of all the problems I've had using the built-in divx encoder, (pillarbox avis) I'm using the AutoXVID plugin to run Auto Gordian Knot for all my recordings. I've done the setup per the instructions, and set the priority for it to "Normal". I noticed that the encodes were taking a ridiculously long amount of time, so I went in and checked on the VirtualDubMod process (spawned by agk), and was suprised to see it was running at low priority. So I changed the default setting for VDM to run at "norma" prioirty, the default was "default". This didnt seem to have any effect, it would seem that AutoXvid is passing in a command line parm or something to cause it to go to low priority. With an underpowerd machine to begin with, this is problematic, as my conversions are now backed up. I checked in AGK and dont see any setting that I can change there.

Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Guide gone? AutoXvid low priority?

Checked settings, only thing I found was "enabled" for downloading guide, and it is.. as far as I can tell all is well with the setup. Does this happen sometimes, and if so what can I do to prevent it from happening in the future?

Guide update failures can happen, but they shouldn't happen very often. The updates usually run daily, so a single update is usually covered by the next day's update.

Re: Guide gone? AutoXvid low priority?

Your log file might help you decipher why the guide updates didn't happen.
http://localhost:8129/Log.aspx

As far as the DivX thing goes, Priority level won't matter if you don't have anything else running on your system. If it's set low, it just means that programs with a normal or higher priority will take precedence. If there's no other programs running that need significant CPU, the low priority encoding thread will still run at 100%.

You have a fairly weak CPU in your system. Try running AutoGK on it's own, compressing the same .mpg file that you were trying to do in BTV (making sure the AutoGK settings are the same as in AutoXviD). Time how long it takes and compare that to AutoXviD, I would expect that it will work out the same. You just need more horsepower!
