Gotta problem

Hi all,

I've searched hi & lo but haven't seen anybody specifically mention this. Here's my sordid story:

Bought a ATI HDTV Wonder, installed it and Beyond TV and reception was choppy. Installed WinXP fresh, and the ATI and Beyond TV - still choppy. I do not have an antenna problem. Thought it was because I have a Nvidia 6600GT so took it back. Then I ordered a DVICO FusionHDTV5 Gold from the snapstream store. Got it, installed it, and the FusionHDTV package (ver 3.30.01) works flawlessly. I then installed Beyond TV, and the damned thing is doing the same thing as when I had the HDTV Wonder card!

Extremely irritating! I know my way around a PC but am not that familiar with codecs and other components related to TV on your PC. Can anyone provide input on how to diagnose what is going wrong? I'm pulling my hair out here.

Thanks,

Chuck

Re: Gotta problem

What are the specs on your BTV computer? HD playback is demanding... the DVICO software is showing a live feed from the antenna, wheras BTV is recording it and then playing it back, which is resource intensive.

Re: Gotta problem

Well Homey,

You nailed it. Running perfmon I discovered my disk queue lengths were really high (was writing to a RAID 1 array). Switched to a single disk and the problem is gone!
