EPG Navigation

Do people really like the way BTV navigates the EPG (keeping one cell focused and having the data scroll into the focused cell)? I've never seen ANY other EPG do it this way. I personally like to highlight whatever cell I want (w/o the screen moving around to accomodate).

Re: EPG Navigation

I thought it was just me!

I want to be able to search within the visable screen, and when I'm done, page up or down to the next screen.

I wish they would add the ability to have the option to navigate either way, depending on your preference.

Re: EPG Navigation

aye, the original scheme where it kept it centered was frustrating; now the keep it at the left is just as frustrating. I really wish it was just standard windows navigation. The cursor moves around until you hit the sides, then if you keep moving it scrolls. If you then move left, it stays where it is til you reach the far side and then it scrolls back again.

Much more intuitive imho, and allows you to see as much before or after the present slot as you wish.
ditto scrolling up /down.

Re: EPG Navigation

I'm pretty sure my cable settop box behaves the same as BTV. I have a Scientific Atlantic 3250HD. I doesn't really bother me, really. But I wouldn't object to a flag that let the user choose the navigation style of their choice.
