Re: Easy TV MPEG PCI TV Tuner (Philips SAA7130 Chipset)
Do you have one?
Here are the unspupported devices http://snapstream.helpserve.com/inde...articleid=1099 Here are the supported devices http://snapstream.helpserve.com/inde...articleid=1126 Just like the KB article says if a capture card is isn't on either list it may still work. If you have the card download the trial and give it a shot. If you don't have the card and you want to use BTV I'd pick from the supported list just to be on the safe side.

No, I don't have it yet. That's just the cheapest I can get.
Anyways, how does this work? You put the card in, Install the drivers, then install Beyond TV? Do I still need the drivers of the tuner card? or Beyond TV has its own drivers for the device? |

Yes you will need to have the card fully installed for BTV to utilize it and then install BTV.
So how cheap is that card?

Re: Easy TV MPEG PCI TV Tuner (Philips SAA7130 Chipset)
Wel just be careful you don't get what you pay for (is it a hardware encoding card?). I know it's approaching 2x the cost but the Hauppauge 150 is on the supported list. Snapstream sells it for $64 http://store.snapstream.com/pvr150mce.html I'm sure you could probably hunt and find it cheaper.
Good luck

There is a $49.95 hauppauge card from pcalchemy.com. Looks like a bargain to me.

Quote:
The other card you asked about, I had thought about getting and no-one here had a clue. It really depends if you "need" a hardware decoding/encoding card (ala the PVR's) or not. The software encoding cards which WILL DO MPEG-2 as well as Divx and AVI are cheap. I've got one sitting here for with FM for 20 bucks, as opposed to the PVR-250 I bought for a C note - but I digress.
