WinTV PVR 150 and WinTV PCI tuners in same BTV4 system--erratic behavior

I have a system with an older WinTV PCI tuner and a new WinTV PVR150 tuner and BTV4. I have had a strange mix of behavior from "Everythings Great!" to "Huh?".

After running the setup script it sees both tuners and recognizes them correctly. I prioritize them in the advanced settings for the PVR150 to be primary. I want to be able to capture and encode with the PVR and still watch or capture with the older card. BTV4 does not seem to quite understand. I have had everything from both working with the new card acting as lead and BTV4 using the MPEG encoder on that card, to BTV4 treating the old card as the lead card and setting up shop around that card's abilities,--then neither card worked properly until I disabled one of them.
Any experience with this mix or suggestions?

Re: WinTV PVR 150 and WinTV PCI tuners in same BTV4 system--erratic behavior

I admit I didn't try very hard, but I had troubles getting my one WinTV PCI to play well with anything else, including my 250, 500 and USB2.

Since I have multiple machines (6 tuners in one machine works, but it can't keep up with ShowSqueeze!), I just put the WinTV by itself and gave up.

Per the Frequently Asked Questions about Multiple Tuner Support in Beyond TV 3.5 and later, multiple tuner configurations are only supported with hardware tuners:

http://kb.snapstream.com/?kbid=190

That said, some have gotten a HW/SW combo working. I have a winTVGO and currently have it working with a Plextor HW tuner, but I was never able to even get the drivers successfully installed when I tried to install it with other Hauppauge hardware tuners. If you did, you might want to try and change the default recording quality for that tuner to windows media or divx video (Web Admin/Settings/Audio & Video Inputs/Edit/Show More Options/Default Format)
