To access your machine, you need to specify port 8129 in addition to your IP address or hostname. To access your PVS, create a URL as follows:
http://your.hostname.com:8129/ or http://123.123.123.123:8129/ |

As an additional consideration, make sure you put the "http://" prefix before the address. With most browsers, that's usually not necessary anymore, especially since they default to http, but for some reason I've noticed that IE 5 and 5.5 do seem to require the http prefix. On the other hand, Netscape 4.75 doesn't seem to have any problem with that.

The http did it.
It seems if you specify a port it assumes FTP or something! |

Along the same line, I noticed last night that PVS hardcodes an IP address in the Configure/General setting that is not the IP of my machine. When I try to access the machine through the IP that is hardcoded nothing happens i.e.(http://2.0.0.0:8129)
but if I put in my real IP address in place of the hardcoded address it works fine. I have went into the .ini file and noticed that the hardcoded IP is there when I change it and restart SnapStream it defaults back to the original hardcoded IP that is incorrect? Does this really matter and if so what can I do to correct this.... |
