Could not start the encoder (V7.0).

Hi all,

Let me firstly say I love the potential of this product.

Here is a log of an attempted recording. Everything seems OK till I get to (Could not start the encoder (V7.0).) The recording continues until it starts to rename the sstemp file and then it tells me it can not find the file specified

I am running this under Windows 2000 Advance Server.

Has anyone had this problem

Hi,

Can you try selecting "Windows Media Format 7" as the encoding engine? We've had more stability problems with Encoder 7 rather than Format 7, so that may help.

The Windows Media 7 technologies generally seem to have some stability issues at present. Looking at various discussion boards and newsgroups (both Microsoft's and Usenet in general), I'm seeing a lot of people having trouble with it in one form or another.

So let me know if you have any better luck with the Windows Media Format 7 encoding, and in the meantime I'll be doing some legwork (and some consultation with our head developer) to see what else I can find out.
