Lightbulb Stream BTV video to your CELL PHONE

Stream BTV to my Cell Phone

So far, from my cell phone, I can browse to my beyond_TV home page and log in, but I can not get video to play (live or recorded).
I want to be able to stream my BTV recorded videos and my live TV to my Sayno MM-5600 multimedia cell phone (which can play video and mp3s, and stream TV from sprint)

I figure, if sprint can send video (like CNN or weather channel) to my cell phone, then so can I from my home PC.

Here is what I know so far:
Instead of http:// use rstf://anyURL:554/file.mov ; rtsf// launches the media player in the cell phone.

Use the HELIX server from realmedia.com to stream, or use the Darwin Streamer, use port 554 (I have not tried either of them yet)

For streaming audio only, use a program called m2audio, to stream audio to a cell phone.

So far, from my cell phone, I can browse to my beyond_TV home page and log in, but I can not get video to play (live or recorded). This could be because my cell phone browser may not support javascript, AND/OR becuase the cell phone media player does not support the media format being sent from BTV.

Help... any feedback & comments would be appreciated

Re: Stream BTV video to your CELL PHONE

My cell Nokia 6230 can only accept 3gp streams, if I could convert to 3gp in real-time and broadcast out on a port then I could stream. As is I use the cell as a modem for my laptop and stream to that.

You are doing EXACTLY what I am trying to do! I have a Sanyo 7400. I was able to log into my.orb.com and view jpgs from my home computer. But when I Select a video file, it opens the media player (which i thought was one hell of a great first step!), but nothing ever plays in the media player .

I am no 3GP expert, but my understanding while working with PSP video is that 3GP and MP4 is supported to some degree via Apple Quicktime. I recommend you go over to apple.com join their developer program and get the software and docs for quicktime dev - they must have a quicktime/3gp/mp4 streaming solution. Anyways, just wanted to give all of you a lead to follow.

Cheers!

Lightbulb Update: Streaming BTV video to your CELL PHONE

Thanks for the feedback,

For cell phone streaming, the following are good places to start:

http://www.orb.com
"Orb takes the home out of home entertainment.Orb gives you secure access to the digital media on your home PC through a simple web interface. Orb streams your content safely to virtually any internet-connected device. Just install the Orb software on your PC, then access your media anywhere. "

Also,
http://www.apple.com
And go to their quicktime /3gp/mp4 section

I am in the process of trying the above. But currently do not have BTV streaming to my cell phone.

Re: Stream BTV video to your CELL PHONE

humor mode on:

It's bad enough that I get run off the road by a driver trying to punch in a cell phone number while driving. Now we have to worry about people watching the latest soap opera too!

humor mode off.
