Dish network 811 HD receiver

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

I'm a new subscriber to dish network and I'm trying to find a way to have ss change the channel on my 811 receiver. Has anyone had success using Actisys IR200L, IR Blaster or USB-UIRT? I did some searching but have not been able to find a definite answer. Thx!

Re: Dish network 811 HD receiver

I use MyIR blaster perfectly fine with my 301 Dish receiver. http://www.mytvstore.com/product_id_...ster&ovtac=PPC
Works great using the 1st remote code on the list for Dish receivers. I got the USB version which really just has a USB to serial converter on it.

Re: Dish network 811 HD receiver

I have a Dish HD811 reciever and use an USB-uirt to change channels. Works fine. It only works in one direction. As you change the TV listing on BTV3 it sends a signal to the HD811 reciever and changes the channel. Hope that helps.

Re: Dish network 811 HD receiver

Please help.

I do have the same receiver and have not idea how to do the connections to set up my BTV. I had cable before and worked fine, now that I switched to Dish Network I'm cluless. Now I have an indoor antena for local channel but sucks!
NCAA basketball tournament is about to start and I will like to have my 811 receiver all hooked in my pc. The IR remote that I have is the one that came with Window MCE, it worked fine with cable I hope that works the same with the dish hook up. Please help! Your prompt assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Dish network 811 HD receiver

I have an 811 HD as well but it's not listed in the list of recievers in sateelite/cable box model area of BTV3 I have tried a few Echostar models and they work for the most part but not for channels below 100. So I used the padding and when I do my USB-UIRT just goes crazy and starts blinking and never stops and my beyond TV hangs. Anyone see this issue.

Thanks

Re: Dish network 811 HD receiver

On ricardo's issue
I have the dish 811. It uses the same IR code as the Echostar 3000 in the BTV setup. You need an IR blaster to get the signals to the receiver. I use the USB-UIRT. It works great with BTV and is also in the setup. Juts be aware that the UIRT only sends signals to the sattellite receiver (Acts as an IR Blaster) with BTV. It wont receive signals from an IR remote and control BTV without Girder. Howerver, the streamzap (IR) or Firefly (RF) remotes will take care of that.

For Stazang
I use padding of 3. So local channels are 005, 021 ect. The UIRT works fine.
My problem is on the other end. If I try to select 9065 (Satellite local channel) the uirt sends out 0001 and keeps flashing and locks up BTV

Re: Dish network 811 HD receiver

Thanks Johny..
I don't want to be a pain..but I need help. I connected the 811 receiver via Svideo to my PC. In the setup I choose the USBUrit because that is what I have with my MCE remote control. After I follow all the steps I only get the channel display that the receiver is set up to it turned on. No changes on channels manually nor with the remote.
Do I really need to purchase something else, download something else or where can I download a Girid like you mentioned.
PLease help.
Muchas Gracias,
Ricardo

Re: Dish network 811 HD receiver

I have JVC 811 hd with usb-uirt. It has never worked with BTV3. Numerous email to and from the usbuirt site have not resloved. It is connected by S-Video to PC. Tried a PVR150 (Haupage) and a pvr250. Everthing worked perfectly with my old non-hd echostar box. Usb-Uirt is working because I see the red led flash. but no channel change. USB-Uirt keeps trying to get IMhelper software he sent to train the remote. Becuase it is UHF, it does not respond. I am at wits end. What to do?

Re: Dish network 811 HD receiver

Why not get a 311 receiver off ebay for $30-$50 (http://search.ebay.com/dish-network-311)? You can not record the HD content from the 811, so at some point your time becomes more valuable than the $$ spent to buy a 311.
