In the library is there a way to tell the difference between "offline" movies and "online" movies or can I setup a filter to seperate these? I use DVD profiler for importing my offline movies but sometimes I have movies on my server which I like to stream and would like to be able to see which is which...any help would be much appreciated...by the way...this is an awesome plugin
There is no present filter option for offline movies. I'll add it to the list of stuff to do.

The "pulsating" effect was my experimenting with a few animation ideas. The whole thing looks really awesome on the skin I was using (Blue Metal, totally awesome!), but it looked like trash on the default BlueWave.

For 1.7.1 I switched back to the older selector image, but now it has a neat spinning effect. One of these days I'll find some flashy effect I really like. (I was tempted to have the image bouncing up and down on the poster, but thought that might be a tad annoying).

The way I run my media center is through netflix. I get 3 movies at a time, rip them, throw them in dvd library, and send them back. I have 3 roommates who also use my media center. With over 200 movies, some of them obscure, it's easy to forget what a movie is about, and trailers are a great and quick way to get a plot summary. While the textual plot summary is generally good, sometimes a trailer is very good for giving you an overall feel for the movie.

GREAT PLUGIN! This should be built into BMedia by default. Not sure if this is the place for this, but is there an easy way to show the current index of the movie you have highlighted and total number of movies in the non-paging mode? I hate the paging mode, but I like that it shows the index and total number.

I, for one, download theatrical trailers all the time to burn on disc and play in my home theater before the main movie. It'd be nice if I could dump those trailers in a special directory where some could be picked at random to be played before the movie. I know that GBPVR has a similar plugin that supports HT intros and trailers seperately for this purpose. I have several animated intros for my home theatre as well.

What about having a few choices for the cursor and making it user selectable? Some might work better than others depending on the user's choice of skin.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (March 11 Update)

ASPECT RATIO QUESTION
I've been using DVD Library for ages, and I absolutely love it. It is the main reason I've stuck with BM.

The whole time I've used it, though, I haven't been able to get the aspect ratio quite right. I've got a 24" Dell 16*9 monitor, but when I watch 16*9 widescreen movies I have to use the "strech" option in the aspect ratio, which distorts the image, to get it to fill the screen. If I leave the aspect ratio on "auto," the image doesn't fill the screen -- I get a 16*9 picture in the center of the screen with block borders at the top & bottom and on the sides.

I don't know if the problem I've having is with BM or my video card settings, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard

No DVD Volume Found!

I asked this a while back but it got lost in the shuffle. When I try to play a few DVDs in my library I get a "No DVD Volume Found" error in the player. I have ripped these few DVDs no differently than the others and they play fine in Windows Media Player. Any ideas?

How about using the "zoom" option? That stretches horizontally AND vertically, whereas "stretch" just stretches horizontally.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (March 11 Update)

Mark -- Thank for the suggestion, but the "zoom" option cuts off the edges of the picture. After picking up a fancy graphics card and a 24" 16*9 monitor, I had hoped I could watch 16*9 movies in their proper proportions.

If you have the Dell 2405FPW, then it’s normal to not have the video fill the entire screen. There will be black bars on the top and bottom.

The monitor has an aspect ratio of 16:10 (as are most widescreen computer displays) and a resolution of 1920x1200. Most DVD movies and HDTV on the other hand have a 16:9 aspect ratio, and in full screen mode the 2405FPW will use a resolution of 1920x1080 (if you have it set to use 1:1, which is what I do). Since the monitor is 1920x1200, 120 rows of pixels (60 on the top and 60 on the bottom) will show as black bars.

Also, a lot of movies use an anamorphic aspect ratio of 2.35:1, so even on widescreen TV displays they’ll have black bars at the top and bottom. When viewed on a 16:10 display the bars will be even more noticeable.

I've got the 2405FPW myself and love it.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (March 11 Update)

Thanks ck99a. Your post was really helpful. Although I love my 2405FPW, I'm going to upgrade my main monitor to a bigger flatscreen tv soon. Does anyone know if I'll have the same issue with TVs?

cncb, I have this exact same issue. Lots of DVD images, ripped in exactly the same way, most of them play, a few don't.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is the right thread for our problem, as DVD Library is only a front end that launches another player. Most likely your DVD Library is configured play the mounted images using BM as the player, like mine is. I would recommend changing it to play them using Windows Media player, or some other player that you know works with all your ripped images.

I don't remember the exact menu choices to get to this in the options menu, but it is not hard to find.

Cheers,
Zeku

Thanks, Zeku. This is probably what I will do.
