Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)
Was finally able to drop back by here and saw that the update was available. Loaded and have now added the batch of movies that was waiting.
As always, thanks for your fantastic contribution! |

I've been using BTV and BM for awhile now. I figured it was about time that I started using this plugin.
It's a cool piece of work. I'm using ISO's created by DVD Fab. I'm able to load and play the movies. However I have a couple of questions.
If anyone has any input on this I would appreciate it. Thank you |

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)
I tried ripping the folder level. I like this method better. It plays right away in the DVD player. Also, I can rip just the main movie for a smaller foot print on the Drive than the whole ISO.

For the above reason, I rip everything to ISO. Playback takes about 10 seconds longer to start because of the mount process, but that isn't a big deal. I also rip just the movie to save on space. If you use DVD Shrink instead of DVD Fab, you can pick and choose exactly what you want to rip (I pick main sound track and movie only) and also rip to ISO. I don't use DVD Shrink to decrypt the files for me, I prefer AnyDVD HD($) because I have yet to find something it couldn't rip. |

I just switched to Windows 7 Ultimate and I am anxious to see if this program works on it. Since Beyond Media has left the building with no further support... we will see. I actually only use beyond TV and this plugin anyway.
Since this plug-in's inception my library went from a few thousand to nearly 10,000. So... I am using terabytes upon terabytes of space being that I never compress. Jason... it has been a loooong time. I have been attempting to contact you a few times over the past few months. I have been wanting to have specific programs done as we once spoke of a few years back. Anyway... back to this... Having large libraries is one thing... going through them is another. I thought I might "suggest" the idea of separate "FAVORITES" area on the menu where each person in a family may pick their own lists from the giant libraries people now have. What do you think?

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)
If you have troubles withi Win7, don't forget to try the virtualized XP license. Just be sure to enable Virtualization in your BIOS.

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)
One more thing... this plugin was originally written for BM. It would be awesome to be able to install it on it's own... and then choose which media player to use with it. I know we can choose one now, but still with BM running. Is it possible to make this a stand alone program?

XML editor for MOVIE.XML
A word of caution before you try this editor, BACK UP MOVIE.XML.
![]() The process that I will describe below is NOT for the beginner but I feel that most folks in this forum are the advanced users. DVD Library is an EXCELLENT piece of work. I really appreciate the effort that Kilrsat has put into this software. My current movie database is approximately 200 ISO movies in a 1TB USB drive attached to my HTPC. I have been using the DVD Library software for over a year and this is my first time on line to comment about it. After using DVD Library to scan and create a MOVIE.XML list I noticed that a few fields were not correct. At first I used the remote control to retype the data but as you know your thumb gets sore. The next thing I tried was Notepad but the data was hard to find in the file because of the xml format. So I decided to search for an XML Editor. I found an great FREE one.![]() XmlMarker EXCELLENT FREE GUI software to view/edit MOVIE.XML file. symbolclick, com Please remove comma from the above link as I do not have enought posts to qualify yet! Did I mention before you try this editor, BACK UP MOVIE.XML. ![]() It's very easy to edit the fields (also very easy to put garbage into the fields that will cause your movie database to fail). My next enhancement to my movie database was to add a couple new GENRE's. I have a lot of Christmas movies and SERIES (Matrix, Star Wars, etc.) movies. I wanted to add new GENRE's for Christmas and Series for FILTERing my database. A very simple task using XmlMarker. The following is a very brief description on using XmlMarker to view/edit your MOVIE.XML file. I am unable to add an attachment with this post because I have not met my "3" requirements. So look in the next forum entry the attachment. 1. After loading your MOVIE.XML file in the editor, click on "PROPERTYBAG" in the top left corner screen of the editor to expand your database. 2. Next click on "PROPERTY" in the top left screen. This first entry in the xml file is the counter for the next entry in the datbase (CurrentID) and will show up in the bottom right corner screen with the value. 3. Now go back to the top left screen and click on "PROPERTYBAG" again. Now in the bottom right screen click on any field in the column "PROPERTY". This will expand your datbase entry and give you a view on a single database entry in the bottom left corner of the editor. 4. ONLY edit the fields listed in the "VALUE" column by double clicking on the field you want to change. 5. If your cursor is in the bottom right screen on the field in the column "PROPERTY" you can scroll through you database using the UP/DOWN arrow keys. Did I mention before you try this editor, BACK UP MOVIE.XML. ![]() I am looking forward to seeing your comments on this editor. |

Add File types - MP4 - MKV - MTS
There was an excellent post from a while back on adding file types.
I just wanted to bring it up to date with the current file types that most of use are using. SnapStream Forums - View Single Post - DVD Library and mp4? Add any file type such as .mp4, .m2ts…. Close Beyond Media. Open this file in a text editor: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SnapStream\Beyond Media\BeyondMediaSettings.xml Scroll down to this section: Last edited by joepic; 12-23-2009 at 08:14 AM. Reason: not correct format |

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)
Anyone know how to either disable or change the default player for the "Play All" option in DVD Library for multi-file or multi-disc sets?
I have VLC playing my MKVs and AVIs and such, but if the user clicks on "Play All" DVD Lib will use the built in BM player and mess things up. I'm ok with removing the Play All option if there is a way to do it, even if I have to edit whatever xml file... I would also be ok with redefining the player used on a "play all" like how we add the DVDCatalog.xxxPlayer DVDCatalog.xxPlayerCommand and DVDCatalog.xxxPlayerArguments to BeyondMediaSettings.xml for specific file types. Thanks much, -Jamie |

Re: [plugin] DVD Library (Sept 7 Update)
IF you use BeyondTV, have you integrated that into Windows 7 media center, or are you using the TV portion of Windows 7 media center as well?
