Hauppage wintv-pvr 150 support??

Hello...

Does anyone know if the hauppage win-tv pvr 150 is supported by Beyond TV? I'm in the market to replace my TV Wonder Pro (junk!!) and can't find anything about this relatively new card here.

I've been looking at BTV and Sage and think this is the route I want to go. I just need to figure out if this card is supported or not.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance and Peace out!!!!!!!!!!

=grins=

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm glad to find out this card is supported by BTV.

How about the Hauppage remote? Do you happen to know if it works well inside BTV? I've found the PVR-150 (w/ remote) is just $10 more than the PVR-150 MCE (no remote).

Thanks again.

Re: Hauppage wintv-pvr 150 support??

Yes, it works great. My current config is actually a 250 and a 350, and I use the Hauppauge remote (the 150MCE is now in a separate machine).

Actually, I now use a universal remote that sends codes that the Hauppauge IR receiver recognizes, but the point is that the Hauppauge remote is fully supported by BTV.

I have the 150 MCE and it works very well with BTV. Install the driver that comes on the CD, run the BTV Setup Wizard. Done.

I use my ATI remote though.

Re: Hauppage wintv-pvr 150 support??

Thanks for the info guys.. Now here's another question that popped up.

Are you locked into two certain recording resolutions, 720x480 or 352x240? I was told by a salesman that this is true for both the PVR150 and the PVR250. He even stated that the bitrate was only changeable between 2k, 4k, 8k and 12k. Of course he was trying to push the 350 or 500 on me in the process.

Right now I have an TV Wonder Pro and normally capture 352x480, CBR 4500. I've found this to be pretty decent for my needs, and can fit a 2hr soccer match to DVD if needed.

Do the Hauppage PVR cards offer as much flexibility as I'm used to with the ATI, as far as letting me choose whatever res (720x480, 640x480, 480x480, 352x480, 352x240, etc) and bitrate (1K - 10K) I want?

Thanks again, it's nice to have found some forums where people are helpful.

Re: Hauppage wintv-pvr 150 support??

Based only on the settings I see in WinTV, the 150MCE appears to support these 3 resolutions:
352 x 480
480 x 480
720 x 480
(apparently not the 640x480 listed in the previous post for the 250/350, if you believe what WinTV shows).

I also verified that the 150MCE supports 4500 CBR just fine, nor does it restrict you to any particular set of bitrates.

Re: Hauppage wintv-pvr 150 support??

I am thinking about a 150 to use for copying old vhs tapes to dvd. The hardware compression seems to be important but what resolution do i need to use to get most like the old tapes. Is this a goog idea or should i think again? Advice welcome.

You either want 352X480 or 720x480. I have copied a lot of old Hi8 tapes, and was quite happy with 352x480.

Same here. I've been using my 150MCE to capture old videos @ 352x480 and have also been happy with the results.

Re: Hauppage wintv-pvr 150 support??

Does 352X480 mean the result is higher than wide, i don't understand?

Re: Hauppage wintv-pvr 150 support??

Can 150's be mixed with different versions of 250's (15 and 16)?
