Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
Hi All,
I'm using BTV 3.5 with an ATI Remote Wonder and would like to know the command line to bring BTV fullscreen. Currently I've got it programmed as "C:\PROGRAM FILES\SNAPSTREAM MEDIA\BEYOND TV 3\BTVD3DSHELL.EXE" and it starts in a window. In the old version you could add "....../mode fs" to start it fullscreen. How do you do this in BTV 3.5? |

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
BTVD3DShell.exe
Opens Beyond TV 3.5 with the ViewScape interface in the last mode it was in. BTVD3DShell.exe /displaymode:fs Opens Beyond TV 3.5 in Full Screen Mode. BTVD3DShell.exe /displaymode:windowed Opens Beyond TV 3.5 in Windowed Mode.

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
I tried this using both the ATI remote wonder configuration window and the Start menu, then RUN and entered exactly:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\SNAPSTREAM MEDIA\BEYOND TV 3\BTVD3DSHELL.EXE" /DISPLAYMODE:FS I get an error message that says "Windows cannot find 'C:\Program'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search." If I try it without the "... /displaymode:fs" switch BTV3.5 open so I know the rest of the path works. I've also tried "...\displaymode:fs" with the switch backwords and the same error message. Thanks for the advice, anything else I should check? |

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
I'm using that exact command line in my remote wonder, and it works fine. That's really strange!
What if you were to create a .bat file and place it in the C:\ directory, then point the ATI remote interface to it, the same way you would to BTV3Dshell.exe? It just might work.

Quote:
START BTV3dShell.exe /DISPLAYMODE:EXCLUSIVEFS (the standard FS works fine as long as you don't mind the tearing).

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
I'm still having a problem with windows not allowing me to start BTV in Full Screen mode. I've tried running the below command from the "Start Menu" "Run" command, & the ATI remote wonder:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\SNAPSTREAM MEDIA\BEYOND TV 3\BTVD3DSHELL.EXE /DISPLAYMODE:FS and I still get the same following error: "Windows can not find 'C:/Program. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and then click search." Does snapstream have any documentation on switch use? Is their something else I should look at in my computer? Thanks again. |

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
when you have long filenames and/or spaces in the path you need to surround the command in quotes.
Try this: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\SNAPSTREAM MEDIA\BEYOND TV 3\BTVD3DSHELL.EXE" /DISPLAYMODE:FS |

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
The commandline is also case-sensitive...most of the options need to be lowercase there. We'll be changing it to be case insensitive, but in the mean time, your best option is to go with creating a batch file and running that to call BTVD3DShell.exe.

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
The case sensitive suggestion now allows my batch file to run. Part of the problem is fixed. However it still does not open BTV full screen. It opens it in a window. Below is the exact line from my batch file:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\SNAPSTREAM MEDIA\BEYOND TV 3\BTVD3DShell.exe" /DISPLAYMODE:FS Thanks for your help so far. Any other suggestions? |

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
Rkuo said that most of the command line options need to be lower case yet you changed the executable to be upper/lower which doesn't matter. Try changing the /DISPLAYMODE:FS part to /displaymode:fs.
What is strange to me though is that I use the command line that I gave you a few messages above and it starts my BTV is full screen with no problem. |

Hi All,
I've got it solved thanks to your suggestions. It sure is case sensitive! I've created a batch file and put in it: "C:\PROGRAM FILES\SNAPSTREAM MEDIA\BEYOND TV 3\BTVD3DShell.exe" /displaymode:fs Thanks for your help

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
For reference, any time a directory is two words (like Program Files) then the command line needs to be in quotes, otherwise it stops at c:\program

Re: Start BTV 3.5 in fullsceen Viewscape via command line?
Are there other commandline commands that aren't published in the help section?
All I saw were commands for full screen or windowed. I would like to program MCE2005 to open BTV in: 1) Guide Mode 2) Recordings 3) Live TV TIA |

Do a search for command line in knowledge base, this will come up http://kb.snapstream.com/?kbid=63&p_...bGluZQ**&p_li=
