Hi all

I'm testing BM, but when I want to watch my videos, I don't get any picture on my clone display.

Why

Please help

Mike

Re: Multi Monitor support

If its running from a dual head graphics card (two outputs from on graphics card) it is very likely that it doesn't support video overlays on both outputs. This means that the video will appear only on the primary screen and you will be left with a black box on the other. There are ways to force it to attempt video overlays on both on some programs (Winamp is one) but this normally gives a bad sync.

If you need that sort of functionality you will either need to find a dual head graphics card that supports multipul video overlays, or buy another graphics card and run one display off each.

Hope that helps,

Ben

Re: Multi Monitor support

I plugged a VGA monitor into my laptop to expand my desktop but the only thing I get is a clone view.

The 'settings' tab in my Display Properties window does not show: Two or more monitor icons in the dark gray area under "Drag the monitor ...". It shows only one monitor which I can't select!

I run WinXP version 2002 including SP2 on a Acer 2500+ Laptop with a S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR.

Can anyone help me with this??

Ronin

Ronin:

That is normal - notebooks only usually have one display adapter installed... and the output port is just that - to use in either a docking station or with the cover closed and with an external keyboard and mouse attached...

My new Dell D800 does true dual monitor, but my company paid extra for the nVidia Go FX5200 to allow that
