Not Able to Stream Recorded Shows

I have a network of computers in my home. Beyond TV is installed on one computer (my HTPC, naturally) and not installed on the other three. All of these are connected via a 100mbps network using static IP addresses.

I want to be able to stream BTV recorded shows to the other computers by connecting to the HTPC on port 1755. When I connect from a non-HTPC computer I get the Web Admin screen as expected, the option to actually stream the recordings doesn’t seem to be available. I can download the recordings and I can make changes to the BTV settings, but the option to stream a show from the HTPC doesn’t even seem to be an option.

I don’t know what kind of information to offer you to help you help me, but I’ll through out some stats that probably won’t help:

All the computers are running Windows XP (SP1, NOT SP2) with at least 2.2GHz CPUs and 512MB RAM - running on a 100mbps switched Ethernet network.

There's no firewall software running on any of the computers. All that kind of stuff is at the gateway only via the router, though they all have virus protection via Norton AV. The computers all have unfettered access to each other and are logged into using the administrator account. They can see each other on the network and can share files using the standard Windows interface, My Network Places (or whatever they’re calling it in this release).

The HTPC is used solely for the assigned purpose and has:

• Windows XP (SP1)
• IE 6
• AMD 2400+
• 512MB RAM
• System HD: 40GB
• Media HD: 120GB
• WinTV-PVR-250
• Beyond TV 3.4

I have made sure that the media server within Beyond TV is enabled and set to port 1755.

OK, I'll bite......

As the documentation states, you cannot stream MPEG2 files recorded from PVR 250/350/usb2 or other card from the webadmin.

You CAN stream any file in WMV format either created from a software encoder or showsqueeze from the web admin.

The streamer sub system in BTV 3.4 is a WMV streamer.

You can Psuedo Stream the MPEG2's and WMV's outside of BTV by sharing the directory of your HTPC machine where the videos are stored so that the other machines can access them. Then they are available to whatever app will play them (i.e. WMP9, ZoomPlayer, NVDVD, etc.).

Your wife says you're over compensating for other deficiencies with your car. I wouldn't know.
We drank the wine. T'was OK. We had to be discrete pouring el cheapo wine back in instead and re-corking the bottles.

Seems you have bigger problems than your BTV install.

Well, when you're out making $10 mil a year you don't get to spend much time with the wife so I can't blame her.
