Free upgrade to 2.0?

If I purchase SnapStream v1.5x now, will there be a free upgrade to v2.0? When is v2.0 release expected?

yes, if you purchase now, you'll get an automatic upgrade to version 2.0. version 2.0 is expected to be released in the next week.

What about people (like me) who purchased SnapStream on 28 October 2001? What's the cutoff point? I don't even use SnapStream right now as it doesn't record to AVI or MPEG2 (see this thread and my comments in it). I'm hoping 2.0 can do so. But if I have to buy it AGAIN to find out it still doesn't support AVI or MPEG2 then I'm dropping the product altogether.

Also, someone asked in another thread whether this version is just for XP. I'm assuming you wouldn't do something like that, but a clarification would be nice.

Clarification would be helpful. I too purchased SS 1.5 thinking it was a newer version after seeing it at the XP launch. Your purchase process never lists the version number (something that needs to be changed).

A few days ago Amit stated "We are on schedule to release version 2.0 this friday, barring any showstopper bugs..."

Can we assume there where some bugs as 2.0 is now to be released "sometime next week"?

All registered users (people who purchased snapstream pvs) will get free upgrades to version 2.0.

alatt: There were a couple of bugs that arose at the last minute and a few other things that came up at the last minute. Hence we plan on sending our testers a build today and let it churn over the weekend, and plan on releasing it early next week.
