Choppy video / audio with PVR250

I'm using the Trial version of BTV3 with a digital cable box... Testing it out to see if it's worth the $$. (And so far looks well worth the cash!)

However, I do seem to have trouble when trying to record off of the composite input from my cable box. The audio and video come through, but the video is highly pixelated and on my last attempt actually froze up after about 10 seconds. (Audio continued to play.) Thought at first it was just that I was trying to do too much with BTV at once, but the video looks and performs the same in Media Player too... Performance off the coax input (bypassing the cable box) is top notch, but I want to be able to record the digital channels as well.

Computer specs are:
Win XP Pro
P4 2GHz
1 GB RAM
180 GB HDD (2 drives)
Hauppage PVR250
ATI Radeon 9000 PRO

Cable box is a General Instrument (Motorola?) DCT2224. Little bit older than what's on the shelf today, but directly to the TV, the picture looks good enough.

Any suggestions?

Re: Choppy video / audio with PVR250

Okay I've answered my own question... Had added the composite video as a second video source through the Web Admin. When I attempted to reinstall again with the composite source as the primary, I got an error message telling me that hardware encoding off the composite in was not supported by the trial version. Oops.
