BTV freeze during live tv going to scheduled recording

I recently felt I had conquered the 250btv ... until this morning. I was watching live TV, went to take a shower, and returned to see a black screen and a frozen BTV. While in the shower a scheduled recording was to take place on a different channel. There was nothing in the log and I had to leave for work. I had to ctrl-alt-del to kill BTV and restart it. I was then able to see the channel.

Has anyone else seen something like this?

I switched my TV to a different input that has a feed from the satellite receiver and confirmed that the channel change was successful.

I have had no issues changing channels in BTV.

Question Re: BTV freeze during live tv going to scheduled recording

I have had to quit using my PVR-250 as it freezes after some period of use and can't be resuscitated without a reboot. Haup tech support started down the "install latest drivers" etc etc route which of course I already did. Anyone know any subtle tricks? Have a 2.4G P4 with 768M on a 875P chipset, GeForce5200 video, Audigy 2 platinum, XP Pro, BTV 3, HT turned off. It does the same thing with the WinTV2000 software. Ideas? Thought I'd make a HTPC for the price of the PVR250 but maybe not ... another ReplayTV would be cheaper at this point ...
