Remote reboot of Computer?

Just had my computer hang-up. I can connect to my router, but not the BTV computer. So I suspect it hung up. Very rare occurrence, so not a major deal, but I am wondering if/how I could remotely reboot it.
Of course Beta testing doesn't help!

I found a number of hardware options for remote reboot, some very expensive.
One solution:
http://www.uptimedevices.com/sdc2.html

Anyone use a cheap solution, (less than $50?) range over ip? I saw some eBay pci boards that might do.

Ideally the solution would not be 110Volts as once again I may end up moving around the world somewhere. I hate buying electronics that don't move with me.

My current solution is time delayed: Call my wife who gets home earlier than I do. Not extremely reliable, but it works.

There are lots of home control software with remote web capability that integrates with hardware. Search for Home Seer.

What about x10 / appliance controllers.
Yes, I've already got an X10 "power module". All I would need is some telephone remote way of cutting it's power. Hmm. Have to investigate what it's "wake up status" after a power outtage is.

Homeseer: Thanks for the tip.

One disk was majorly unhappy, so in all reality remote reboot would have done nothing useful.

Soft reboot is easy enough for all other cases, so I won't bother with hardware reboot for the moment. Just convince my wife to hurry home to reset if ever needed.
