Newegg has a Trend Micro 24-port Gigabit switch for $99 (normally $179) with free shipping. I ordered one today - should replace the rats nest of 3 switches and wiring I have in the basement!

Re: All Users Please Post Current Deals/Sales Here
Silicon Dust has finally got news on the Home Run Prime (Cable card tuner). Pre-orders now being taken with New Egg. Expected delivery late June. (of THIS year .. <grin>)
I'm going to loose my Cox analog service so I'm going to have to find a solution to encrypted digital recording. I'm hoping that the powers to be at SnapStream give this new cable card device a look. I would have thought that of all the internal and external PC tuners the Silicon Dust Networked tuners would be the easiest to integrate into the BTV server. The problem is that BTV is so reliable and fills my needs so well that I'm even thinking of just building another system that would just do the encrypted digital recording and move the shows into my BTV server. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-006-_-Product

I made the switch over a year ago to Windows 7 media center with my existing hardware used for BTV. Everything is working great, and it has all of the features of BTV, plus more. THe only issue I have with it is that you can't use another PC as a client...you need an XBox360 or similiar device. Thankfully, I already had one.

Re: All Users Please Post Current Deals/Sales Here
I thought all the ex-BTVers had stopped lurking in this forum, I still fail to see why anyone comes back here only to brag about how they were able to switch to media center or sage and everything is so freaking wonderful. The reason people like us are still with BTV is because WMC7 and Sage and Media Portal and whatever ARE NOT JUST AS GOOD as BTV. WE can't do multiple tuners or automatic showsqueeze or the interface is not as smooth and comfortable and a dozen other reasons. There are endless threads devoted to why we prefer BTV over WM7 and whatever spam you feel the need to post here, so honestly please stop cluttering our otherwise clean and mostly unused forums with your fanware spam. I'm happy you like WM7, I tried it and I hate it like pimples on my ass, incredible resource hog on libraries, limited versatility and crippled with DRM. If it meets all your needs then you probably never should have started with BTV in the first place, too much club for you.
Excuse the rant, but please people, the forum is dead enough as it is, constructive posts or go post on your product's forums.

Re: All Users Please Post Current Deals/Sales Here
Wow, sensitive spot huh? I was only giving him an option. He's not going to get it with BTV, agree?
And your reasons for not switching to WMC7 (as one example) are not valid. WMC7 can do multiple tuners (I do). It can do commercial skip (without touching a button), the interface is modern compared to BeyondTV, very intuitive and a dozen other reasons. And at least my previous post was somewhat helpful. Yours was complete and utter spam. Idiot.

Re: All Users Please Post Current Deals/Sales Here
It's a bloated resource hog, drm crippled, can't be streamed to other computers, has to be hacked to be even somewhat useful, the only reason most people use it is for cablecard and even that is locked down, expect Comcast and the other pisspoor cable providers to start locking down more shows via cablecard (do not record flag) as they start pushing their online streaming service. I give it a year tops, come back then and brag.

Re: All Users Please Post Current Deals/Sales Here
I was only doing what this topic was about. Deals and new stuff etc. ..and not necessarily SnapStream related. (oh by the way, Newegg had a deal on WD 2-Terabyte drives for under 80 bucks)
But I digress .. I'm with Zeta Vue. Been using BTV and BM for 8years now. Love it. I tried all the others. I only mentioned that IF BTV ends up not supporting the HomeRun Prime, I'll find another way to integrate it with my BTV server. IF not .. then I will probably sell the "prime" and get a couple STBs to feed my BTV Server. That'll give me 2 cable DVD quality feeds, 2 OTA HD Feeds and 2 Clear QAM cable HD feeds. One less tuner than I currently have. ah .. this isn't the place for this. I just don't know why guys who are so happy with their non-SS setup keep coming back here to tell ME what I'm doing wrong or how much better their setup is better than mine. Go away .. Please. I've NEVER been on any of YOUR forums. This is a SnapStream forum. Stop making a pest of your selves. Let SS users, who are happy and getting great use of this product continue to do so in peace. The above rant was not pointed to any one individual, but rather those few outsiders who seem to be unhappy that we are happy. Get it?

Re: All Users Please Post Current Deals/Sales Here
I understand you guys are dedicated to the dying BTV and may have formed some sort of cult following to it. But I was just trying to state that you're not going to get the feature you are requesting. Snapstream has put BeyondTV to rest. That's all. And I'm not unhappy that you are happy. Glad you are. Just trying to offer advice. Listen, I was a BeyondTV user for nearly 8 years. I didn't want to switch. I was annoyed I had to. But once I did, well, it wasn't so bad. And now after using the alternative for over a year now, I'm very happy with it and actually impressed with the host of different features that are within a different product. Love the integrated "Beyond Media" stuff that is included and seamless.
Anyway....anymore deals?!

Re: All Users Please Post Current Deals/Sales Here
Still waiting for my Silicon Dust 3-tuner cable card tuner. I am on New Egg's "pre-order" list. A couple weeks ago, New Egg had a delivery date of July 25. Up to then my pre-order was being listed as being released around 25-26 June. Tonight I checked and now the 3-tuner HDHomeRun Prime listed as "out of stock". Sigh ..
Also the delivery date for the 6-tuner HDHomeRun Prime CC6 was moved back to August 15. I should have been one of the first to get the 3-tuner model. Seems like over night, it went from "pending" to out of stock. Has anyone received one of these yet ?
