major problems with BTV Setup

I am having a new problem with BTV342. 2 days in a row I have come home to my computer turned off. now, I thought maybe it was a power outage but now im not so sure. both times I have los thte ability to watch live tv. I get an error message that the cable is unplugged. I re-run the setup wizard and when I get to the part where normally I get a message that my pvr-350 has integrated sound and then it shows the video and audio for hte test, now I get a drop down to ask me to select line in and channel. I then get an error saying the cable is unplugged and setup fails. In order for me to get this working again, I have to uninstall BTV completely and re-install. It is getting quite annoying now. please help.

If you are running Windows XP or Windows 2000, are there any entries in the event logs that would explain the computer shutting down?
Are you running any utilties or is your BIOS setup to shutdown the PC in the event your CPU overheats?
Does you BIOS have a setting for what to do after a power loss? If so, is it set to leave the machine off or re-boot?

You can start with the above items, but the fact that the system is losing some configuration information points to an abnormal shut down.

I would also suggest re-installing the latest Hauppague drivers, but run hwclear first.
