Hauppage WinTV PVR-USB2?

From what i've found in the knowledge base, the Hauppage WinTV PVR-USB2 is not yet supported by Beyond TV but will be in the near future. But, from reading through some of the threads, some people are recommending this unit. What's the deal? Does this PVR work with Beyond TV right now, but just isn't officially supported yet? or does it not work and will work with a future patch?

Also, trying to understand the differences between the PVR-USB2 and the PVR-250. I know there's the inherent PCI vs USB2 difference. But besides that, are there any major differences? I'm planning on building a new HTPC from a Shuttle PC and, so, don't have many PCI slots available and would rather go with the USB2 tuner if possible. But, i don't want to sacrifice anything by doing so. Any comments or advice would be much appreciated!

thanks

I'm using the PVR-USB2 with a Biostar IDEQ SFF PC - BTV works great with it. Hauppauge recently released a driver update for this device although I have not verified that it addresses all of the original BTV integration problems. Maybe someone from BTV support will be able to verify.

BTW - I saw in the Sunday Circuit City (Atlanta) circular that they have a $60.00 rebate on the device

I use a Hauppauge USB2 tuner and am satisfied with it. Like you, I am using a Shuttle miniPC. I used my one PCI slot for a USB2 expansion card, bringing total ports to 8. Since nearly everything comes in a USB2 version these days, I figure this will give me plenty of expansion room along with the firewire ports.

TV playback and recording in Hauppauge's included applications looks better than what I am seeing in BeyondTV. The picture is soft and not as vivid. Last I read, you have to configure Hauppauge tuner outside BeyondTV in Hauppauge's software, exit, and then restart BeyondTV. I have my settings cranked up in the driver and BeyondTV.
