Feature Request || Guide Favorites
I know this is petty compared to some of the other feature requests out there, but since I haven't seen it mentioned.....
I would love to have some kind of favorite lists for the guide. That way I could set up just the channels I watch most frequently (say the top 10), and others could have theirs as well.....say one for the wife, one for a child, and one for a teen....who ever and whatever. On one of my DirectTv recievers I have all the basic cable channels in one, sport channel in the other, learning channels, movie channels....etc. This way I dont have to scroll through the 150 channels. Each list has 10 entry fields and are customizable... of course you would still have the entire guide available as well. Just an idea. Not as important as folders, but something I would like to see down the line. What are other people's opinions on this? |

Request
Have you ever though of changing the icon in the task bar to something other then a tv with a small dot when a recording, or live tv, or downloads are being done. Maybe have different colors or have the icon change dependent on the function so I can tell at a glance what is going on in the background. I also wish the icon would change when no tv signal is available. I have the ATI All in Wonder Pro 9800 and it seems that Snapstream can't access a signal after a period of time and I have to re-start my system even though I can get a live picture from ATI's TV software.

A list of favorites sounds good to me too.

If they add the ability for favorites, it would be nice to be able to press a key (most likely, 'F') to go to the next favorite channel, without having to open up a list.

Im with ya on using the "F" key to bring up the list(s). For remotes.... On one reciever, i have a favorites button...hit it multiple times and it switches between the favorite lists... on the other reciever I have to push guide several times and then an okay button. I would prefer to have a favorites button.... probably using girder to assign the button. For mouse users (I think there is only a handful of us).. I would think tabs along the top of the transparent guide would do nicely.
I'm not to worried about HOW this feature is implemented, nor If it will be..... but I would like to see it in a future release...possibly in version 4.0 GAstorino, Neat idea. I dont know if it would be beneficial for everyone (ie. can't see the taskbar when in full screen), but I like the idea nontheless. Last edited by Treetop; 11-25-2003 at 05:15 AM. |
