The weather feed is dead. We get nothing but an N/A.
I realize that BM is no longer supported, but maybe our pal Kilrsat can drop us a line to re-scrape the website that supports the feed.

Re: Weather is dead
Hey,
I dropped BM long ago, but if I recall this plugin used Weather.com feeds. Over in the XBMC forums this topic has been discussed at length recently, seems that the Weather.com API is no longer free, they started charging monthly subscription fees... http://portal.theweatherchannel.com/ Have to assume this puts a kibosh on app developers who can't recover the fee.

Re: Weather is dead
Yeah, I've been using weatherpulse and they lost their weather.com feed. I tried talking with weather.com to allow the free RSS feeds for open source software but they don't care. I have not tried Media Portal lately to see if they still get a weather feed.

Re: Weather is dead
RSSWeather.com has free RSS feeds. If you can change the URL in BM, maybe you can target those feeds. If the data mapping is different, maybe someone can develop a transform using Yahoo Pipes and rewrite them...

Re: Weather is dead
MediaPortal's built-in weather plugin is affected as well.

The weather thing in Beyond Media, started working again, a couple of days ago.
Not sure if it matters, but I live in Texas.

Re: Weather is dead
hey, i tried it Dec 1 2012 and it is not working, so any updates from folks if this is still working would be appreciated. I tried loading my zip code and chose 'manual update' and after the last few days it does not update.

Re: Weather is dead
Weather.com made their xml feed available for about a month or so this spring, then it went away again. Try it again next May.

Re: Weather is dead
strange, as one would think if they were aware it was being used what is the problem with continually letting it be available? has someone contacted weather.com webmaster to inform that feed should remain in place?

Re: Weather is dead
I discussed it with them when they initially killed the feed. Issue was that they want to sell access to their premium feed and the free access was cutting into their sales. End result is all free programs that were using the weather.com feed just switched to accuweather or one of the other free feeds. OF course those programs are being actively developed, Beyond Media (and my Sagetv extender) are no longer being developed so they are screwed. Maybe someone ambitious can put together a weather plugin using an alternative feed?
