HDHomeRun

I am just trying to configure my HDHomerun. Are all channels tuneable via qam HD. I have found many channels some show up as a small screen in VLC while others show up in a much larger window. It seems like all of the local stations ar available in the small window While I can only find CBS in the larger windows.

In addition, tHere seem to a couple of speciality channels such as PBS HD that is only available after 7pm. I havenn't been able to figure out out to create a line up for that channel as it seems to be different than the regular PBS station.

Re: HDHomeRun

Maybe they are displaying shows that arent in HD at that specific moment. Not all programming will be hd.

Re: HDHomeRun

The smaller window is probably the SD channels at 720x480 or so, while the biggers would be the HD channels at 1920x1080 or 1280x720... Usually the non HD programming on HD channels will still be transmitted at HD resolution...

Re: HDHomeRun

OK I found the HD versions of CBS and ABC. I foud several other qam tunable SD channels but I can't locate an HD version of NBC (the main one I was looking for) and FOX (less important to me).

I was under the impression that the lcoal stations were typically available unencrypted. If that is the case can I approach Charter cable to try and get the NBC channel available unencrypted?

Is it possible that HD versions of my local NBC and FOX stations are not available in HD?

Re: HDHomeRun

I have the same problem and am going to have to jump on Brighthouse. They are not unencrypting all the HD stations.

Re: HDHomeRun

Ok I am starting to get the nack of this and have the HD stations that are available configured.

So If I want to ask about getting the local NBC station unencrypted, what would be the best way to ask and what inforamtion should I have for them?

Re: HDHomeRun

I would just tell them that you can receive all your locals in HD on your QAM capable "TV" except for NBC. It's probably easier than explaining the HDHomeRun

Re: HDHomeRun

Turns out that for some reason NBC is not available in our area. Only CBS, ABC and PBS

I guess that means there is no local HD for NBC? If there is, they have to supply to you.
