BTV-Externinator - Alpha release

The goal of BTV-Externinator is to perfom recordings, using capture devices not currently supported by Beyond TV (i.e. Firewire, DVB, unencrypted QAM, HDHomeRun, R5000HD, etc.). This addon acts as a bridge between BTV's powerfull schedulling and an external application, which knows how to perform recordings with that unsupported capture device (i.e. VLC, ProgDVB, FusionHDTV, etc.)

While initially BTV-Externinator required Framework .NET 1.1, starting with version .87a2 it requires .NET 2.0 and version 1.72b moved to .NET 3.5.

For versions of BTV before 4.8.0, you can get the stable version .75 beta - 2 or the beta release 1.31. For version of Beyond TV starting with 4.8.0 and up, you can use the beta release 1.75 (not backward compatible). Link to the official release can be found in the signature... Starting with version 2, only the Firewire+ and GrafCorder external tuners are supported. Version 2.06 added a dedicated HDHR tab.

I copied BRVE into the directory with BTVN and BTVE does not have any of my existing settings/setups. Is there something else I need to do ?

You can copy your various BTV-Negociator* files to BTV-Externinator*, in order to keep your settings.

Well, you need to rename the copied configuration files... If the configuration files were also named the same that would lead to problems...

Ok - so I just need to copy the old/previous config files back in.

I must be dense this evening. Sould I expect my External Tuner and Table of channels from BTVN to be used by BTVE ? I copied all of my config files from BTVN into the BTVE directory, but I still don't seen those setups in BTVE

Well, since I have to spell it out (I guess people are not used to renaming files at the command prompt...):

BTV-Negociator.ini ==> BTV-Externinator.ini
BTV-Negociator.ctl ==> BTV-Externinator.ctl
BTV-Negociator-ext.txt ==> BTV-Externinator-ext.txt
BTV-Negociator_DVICO-Ch.xml ==> BTV-Externinator_DVICO-Ch.xml
BTV-Negociator_HDHR-Ch.xml ==> BTV-Externinator_HDHR-Ch.xml

The other files are not used (for searches and such).

I don't get it. You mean change the name?
Mine complained about missing english.txt, so I copied it in there from BTVNegotiator.
The good news is that it now works exactly the same for me as the BTVNegotiator does. I am looking forward to the .net 2.0 version that uses the api directly without VLC.
Anything I can do to help?

Well, I did include some English2.txt file, but forgot to update something else.

What I really need, is for HDHomeRun users to upload their channel scan files so I can use that for the new channel mapping... Of course, a few confirmations that I haven't broken anything with the Firewire/DVICO-QAM/HDHR recordings would be nice too...

The good news is that it now works exactly the same for me as the BTVNegotiator does.

Version .02 (alpha) is available:

- Fixed the auto-launch. (was still using the BTV-Negociator registry key)

- Removed more left over codes.

EDIT: The HDHR-Program sub-tab is not actually functional just yet...

Here is my channel scan list. I've trimmed out all but the channels I'm interested in, not that there was much else, and added labels to the viewable programs. This is for Time Warner cable in Plano, TX, basic cable, and they are in QAM256 HRC format.
